The house is lovely and nicely decorated to make one feel cozy. We stayed in the summer room which is roomy with a bigger bathroom than the others but all the cupboards and drawers were cluttered with extra linens, Christmas decorations, books etc. therefore no place to unpack. Closets had 4 hangers and stuff in them. The rooms have no refrigerators as stated on the website and there were no afternoon wine and cheese. Breakfasts were generous and good. Nicci was very delightful and accomodating with changing times for us. Had good recommendations on wineries and restaurants. Our last day there the breakfast dishes and food on the table and kitchen was not picked up even at 7 PM when we were back before dinner. It smelled and looked terrible- had to call her to get someone to clean up. Also never had our trash cans emptied in 6 days and they were overflowing. It could be a wonderful place if kept up better with more attention from the owners. She seems to be very busy and involved- not sure this is her first priority. Location is great for wine touring and area is breathtaking.

I must say I have been to many b&b's but have not always encountered the hospitality that Nicci offers at this beautiful historic house. Every morning we were giving a 3 course breakfast that definitely gets you ready for a day of wine tasting - which is why we were in the area to begin with. Nicci knows everyone and has the best advice on where to eat, what events are going on and what wines not to miss! She is an amazing cook -and such a busy woman I wonder how she manages to do it all! But she does and very well. The Kelty was very inviting and homey, clean and comfortable with everything we needed. I would love to stay there again next time!

This past spring a group of 10 of us took advantage of a wine tour package for Kelty Estate purchased at a charity auction. What a fantastic experience!

It started early Saturday - we checked into our rooms at the bed and breakfast, then loaded into a clean and comfortable limo for a day of wine tasting. Nicci Stokes, the owner of the bed and breakfast, was our driver, and what a driver she was! She took us to some fantastic wineries, including a few that are only be appointment. Her repoire and relationships with these wineries ensured we were granted the utmost service at each stop, and Nicci was even open to us requesting additional wineries if time allowed. The day included a fantastic variety of wines, a delicious lunch, and a fun BBQ dinner at Methven.

Nicci is extremely personable, open and honest. It was like we were invited into her family, and she was very generous, sharing wine from her personal stores. We awoke the next morning the delicious smells of a homecooked breakfast - smoked salmon eggs benedict! It was a great end to a great weekend.

Again, our experience at Kelty Estate was incredible, and anyone looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience in the Oregon wine country should make sure to give Nicci and Kelty Estate a call.

We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome!
Beautiful setting, lots to do. The food way exceeded our expectation!
The home is cozy, warm and you feel like you took a step back in time. All of the fixtures in the bathroom reminded me of when I was a girl. We had a wonderful time. The home was built back around the turn of the last century and is full of gorgeous antiques. Everything is well maintained and you can tell that the family that runs it has a real passion for what they do. They even have their own special wine label, so if they really like you- you might just get a sample!
Enjoy! We can't wait to go back!!

Kelty Estates B&B looks good on the web but was a big disappointment. Nicky, the owner, although nice and knowledgeable, is absentee and it shows. We felt pretty abandonned. Our room, the Trillium, was small but adequate but the bathroom was a ludicrous joke. I've seen bigger bathrooms on airplanes. Our room had a chair (sitting area?), no fridge, no wine fridge. Our towels unbelievably literally had huge holes in them. My mother stayed in the SummerRoom which had a good bathroom. Nicky shows up in the morning to cook. Breakfast was large, eccentric (polenta?), gooey and not healthy. The common fireplace vented fumes into the living room and our bedroom so we couldn't use it. The house is deserted at happy hour but a label-less bottle was provided in the kitchen for DIY. Forget hors d'oeuvres. The living room has pathetic lighting to read by, with many bulbs burned out, as they were in our bedroom and bath. You have free internet. I'd say Nicky is coasting.

I surprised my wife with an overnight stay here for her birthday in early April and this was a great decision. Lafayette is a small town located betweeen the wine country craziness of Mcminnville and Newberg/Dundee. From the moment we were greeted with a glass of wine to Nicci's great breakfast, it was a nice weekend. We stayed on the ground floor in the Summer room which, although small was very cheery and had a nice view of the back yard. We wandered across the street to the Lafayette School Antique Mall and then down the street to Antonio's for dinner and then back to the B&B. It was a great getaway and one I can recommend to anyone.

My husband and I stayed at the Kelti for our anniversary, it was one our most memorable and favorite vacations that we have taken together! Nicci, the innkeeper was very knowledgable about the area and "all" of the wineries. Not to mention she is a fantastic cook. Would definitely stay at the Kelty again, actually can't wait to go back!
