“Great location and overlooking lake”
Reviewed 5 May 2012

I know the facility is a little dated and the sound insulation may not be up to contemporary standards, but I loved the place. For one, the suite itself was spacious, providing a sitting room and separate bedroom. The bathroom was clean and adequate. The kitchen area has silverware, plates and cookware, as well as a mini-fridge, microwave, and sink. There is a full-sized grocery story just a block away, so eating in the room was an option. The views from the room overlooking the lake were wondrous . . . evenings on the balcony, listening to the many ducks and watching the night sky were peaceful gifts in the midst of a busy time. The staff was helpful and unobtrusive. Every request was met with a gracious response. Note that the parking lot is very small and likely would not hold a full Inn. The Inn is within a few hundred feet of numerous restaurants and shopping options. Most days, I took a short walk to one of the many eating options. A bit farther away, but still within walking distance, were a couple of very attractive parks, suitable for walking or jogging. The Inn is located in a wonderful location. I'll plan to stay here again on another trip to the Portland area.

Room Tip: The suites are worth the upgrade, as are the rooms overlooking the lake. A lake-view is a must!

The motel/hotel is right in the center of the city of Lake Oswego and on the lake. It is next to restaurants and small shops. This small city is very attractive and safe, being completely accessible from the hotel. The motel is also within the walking distance of a supermarket if you want to prepare your own meals. Rooms have a small refrigerator and a microwave.

The motel is older construction and accordingly it has no sound insulation. We could hear muffled conversations and television both through the walls and above us. We could also hear people walking in the room above. The bathroom has an odd configuration, but is clean and well lit.

While the motel web site suggests that there is a continental breakfast, there is no dedicated room for it. The breakfast consists only of pastries and coffee in the office and seating for only five or six people. There are no juices, cereal or other breakfast items, however since the rooms have microwaves and refrigerators you can pick up things nearby and have them in your room.

The management also seems to have a great deal of flexibility in pricing the rooms. We went to the web site and immediately found discount deals for our stay, with no question from the clerk when I called to get the reservations.

This could be an ideal location for a family reunion during which one is more forgiving about noise from adjacent rooms or kids nearby. The location is certainly ideal and everything family friendly is nearby. There is a small pool for the kids. Everything is quite clean. The rooms have a small counter where one could prepare meals and there is dishware and silverware in the cupboard.

If noise bothers you then this is not the place for you. You will see other reviews indicating this problem.

Be sure to ask for a room on the fourth floor. At least you won't hear the people over you walking around.

Room Tip: Definitely ask for a fourth floor room.

Well situated to access walking trails, shopping and restaurants. Our room had everything we needed to fix simple meals. Lobby had drinks and goodies throughout the day. Very helpful staff. Overall quiet although you can hear people walking overhead at night, snorer through the wall. One morning the train comes through at 4 am otherwise it was always during the day.

Room Tip: Balcony room, upper floor at the end of the hallway

My husband and I needed a quiet getaway and this was the perfect place. The hotel staff was genuin, happy, and helpful, the office was clean and tidy. We felt comfortable from the very start. They offer fruit at all hours, fresh coffee, and other beverages. They added an extra special touch to our room by placing wine, chocolates, and glasses in the room to welcome us. The rooms were clean, spacious, the bed was extremely comfortable, with high quiality linens and towles. The best part was the beautiful view of Lake Oswego we gazed apon from inside our room and on the spacious balcony.
It was the perfect weekend getaway. The hotel was peaceful, and the city was also a lot of fun to explore with great restaurant, shopping, and historical land marks. We will definately be coming back!

Pros: Center of town, right on the lake, clean, good internet connection, dog friendly and they go above and beyond to see to your pets needs, there was a great sunset view from the room.

Cons: Lots of noise from people walking by the hotel, train traffic, uncomfortable beds, small TV's with no HD. Also we purchased a special package and not everything that was promised in the information about the hotel was there.

After reading the previous reviews for this hotel and others in the area I decided to give the Lakeshores Inn a try over the chain, big brand hotels. I was glad I did. The staff was very friendly and the room was nice, clean and comfortable. Since my daughter was going to be staying at the nearby college and my wife stayed home with the animals, I took the smaller non-view room. The room was nice but after seeing the lake view and the weather was great, I wish I had spent the extra dollars for the view. The desk staff let be visit one of the King View rooms and next time we are in the area we be back to stay at the Lakeshore Inn. The one less than positive was the continental breakfast, it was a selection of small pastries that were just OK at best although the coffee was good. There are several small restaurants within walking distance and an Albertson's and Starbuck's across the street. Overall, this was a good value and a very pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the Lake View room.

The rooms are comfortable...suites have kitchens and separate bedrooms, so good for multiple couples. The hotel is near everything...theatre, shopping, grocery stores, coffee shops are all in walking distance!

Room Tip: Lake view rooms have peaceful views of the lake!
