“Super nice pet friendly inn”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 January 2014

This place was a super nice pet friendly inn. The dog got a welcome basket! And there was a designated dog area with clean up supplies provided. The location is perfect. It is located in historic Lincoln City across from Mo's, so a nice place to go for a walk. The gas fireplace was nice to have. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. They have DVD rentals available. The staff are very friendly. There is a picnic/bbq area available. No pool, but the bay is across the street. We had the added thrill of seeing a whole herd of seals resting across the bay in the morning!

Room Tip: Upstairs for a view.

I've stayed at The Looking Glass Inn several times. The first time was 10 years ago. Since then they have remodeled and it is quite modern and clean and they still welcome your 4 legged family members. Canines receive a nice welcome basket. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the beds are extremely comfortable. It's location in Taft provides for great views of the bay leading out to the ocean and several great dining options within walking distance. Take a nice walk along the bay and beach then head back to the room to relax by the fire. They offer a complimentary breakfast in the lobby with pastries, fruits, juices and cereals. The staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend The Looking Glass Inn weather you are traveling with a pet or not.

First time guests at Looking Glass, but it won't be our last. We wanted to take our dog on this trip to the coast and was afraid we would have to sacrifice a nice place to stay. Not true. Looking Glass was clean (no dog odor or hair). In fact, you are given a sheet to place over the bed or chairs if you are going to let Fido on the furniture. Great location with a nice walking beach across the street and Mo's restaurant a few steps away.

It is so nice when the desk clerk is excited when you arrive. They hand you a basket with pet supplies, i.e. dishes, bed covers, towels, poop bags and dogy treats.) When our fireplace (gas) wouldn't light, we didn't have to wait hours for a maintenance man or get the lame excuse, "I can't leave the desk". One of the women at the desk went to our room with us with tools and fixed it herself. I was completely impressed. Although we've stayed there before, I always feel like I've made their day just by arriving. The pet rooms are immaculate and the handout doesn't make you feel like a failure, if you pet makes an error.
The motel is located on a wonderful "dog walking" area including beach and sidewalks.

Since the motel is so close to the Otis Cafe, skip their continental (i.e. sugar) breakfast and treat yourself to their exceptional breakfast. Makes for an unbeatable experience..

Room Tip: This is an older refurbished motel so the rooms in the "pet wing" are large and spacious...

We spent two days at Lookinglass Inn. The rooms were clean and fresh smelling, as it was a dog room. We also had our dog. The views where great. And so close to Mo.s. Staff was friendly and helpful. We definitely will be back.

Room Tip: We had a two bed facing the Siletz bay. Big window in front, plus you could sit outside on the litt...

Green Features: I love the dog area. They also have bags for your dogs mess, and a trash can for easy disposal, or use their pooper scoopers.

We have stayed at the Looking Glass Inn several times on our trips to the coast and are always very happy with everything! We have stayed in many different rooms and you really can't go wrong. The rooms are nice and clean and the beds are very comfortable. Some have fireplaces. Many have kitchenettes, kitchens, or at the least a microwave and fridge. Most rooms have nice views. If you've forgotten anything, the front office of friendly staff probably have it and are happy to loan it out to you. Last weekend when we were there we had a dog leash malfunction, and they were happy to lend us one. Oh, that too, they are very dog friendly. Your pup actually gets a welcome basket and dog beds are available to use as well. The staff is always extra friendly. It's right on the bay/ocean front and is across from MO's! Living in Corvallis, Oregon, we love spending nights at the ocean, and I think it would be very difficult to stay anywhere else.

Very well maintained rooms. It was a first experience for us taking our dog on an overnight stay, and will definitely return. The gas fireplace stopped working, which was mentioned to the front desk staff, which immediately notified the repair staff. Problem with WIFI not working from our room, so had to go to front office area to access it. The breakfast was minimal. Better off going elsewhere for something reasonably healthy.
