Baywood Shores Bed & Breakfast
Ranked #1 of 8 Lincoln City B&B and Inns
Reviewed 17 August 2011

I brought my friend to Baywood Shores for her birthday, and we had an amazing time. We spent the day riding on highway 101 from Astoria, and we got to the Baywood Shores around 8pm. Judy was still up and was a good sport about us checking in soo late. She gave us a tour of the house, and then took us up to our room. After showing us the room, she even gave us a great recommendation for a local restaurant that was amazing. The Captain’s room we stayed in was unreal; it felt like we were in a master suite at the Wynn. The view of the beach was perfect; the bed was massive, and the oversized Jacuzzi tub hit the spot after 7 hours on the bike. True to form, we woke up late for breakfast, but Judy still made us a delicious feast. I have stayed at numerous Bed and Breakfast’s along the Oregon and California coasts over the years; Baywood Shores is by far my favorite. I would highly recommend this location to anyone wanting an unforgettable experience.

We stayed there for three daysand were treated like family by the owners Gary and Judy and when I say family I mean the ones that you invite back. This was our first stay at a B&B , we were looking for something different than the usual motel stay as we were celebrating our 30th anniversary, this place was great, quiet, comfortable and a great view of the bay . The owners provided those special touches that you just do not see at most places, super nice room with jacuzzi, king size bed (very comfortable) and a large private bathroom. They only have 2 rooms that are rented out so you will never be crowded. They cater to a mixture of young people and older couples, they warn of the stairs as the rooms are upstairs but we had no real dificulties and I'M in my sixties.A spotting scope is positioned in a common area allowing you to spot a pair of Bald Egles and seals sunnying themselves, we enjoyed this feature very much, Lincoln City has many dinning areas and many areas to explore. The location of the B&B allowed us to travel south along the coast to many great viewing areas and beaches, the same can be said going north for day trips. If you get a chance check them out.

The Baywood Shores Bed and Breakfast is the place to stay on the Oregon Coast. Gary and Judy have done an excellent job creating a serene and comfortable atmosphere. It is like home, but way better.

First of all, Gary and Judy are the most sincere and welcoming hosts. Their breakfasts were a treat to look forward to each morning. The best were Judy's dutch babies accompanied by Gary's homemade syrups. I also loved the secret recipe butterscotch rolls.

I stayed in the Captain's Quarters and the website pictures do not do justice to the quality and size of the room. Soaking in the two-person jacuzzi tub at sunset was luxurious to say the least. The bed was comfortable and every night was a restful deep sleep.

The location of the Baywood Shores is also a big plus as Newport is a short beautiful drive away, as well as several scenic lookouts, and the Three Capes Loop. Also in Lincoln City is a great outlet mall for tax-free shopping!

What I liked best about the Baywood Shores is how everything came together so perfectly: great hosts, a luxurious room, delicious breakfasts, a beautiful location, at a great value. You will not find what the Baywood Shores Bed and Breakfast has to offer at a better rate anywhere. Needless to say, what I liked least was checking out.

Room Tip: Do not pass up Fogarty Creek State Park

This B&B was Terrific!! We loved it for so many reasons. We stayed in the Captain's Quarters, and when we go back, that is where I would love to be again. Great People - Gary and Judy... Neat, neat, neat!! the decor, the privacy, the easily-found location, the VIEWS and more. Delicious breakfast and not a single complaint. Happy Travels!

We loved our stay at the Baywood Shores Bed and Breakfast. It's situated right on the Bay with beautiful views from our bedroom as well as the dining room and living room. We loved eating breakfast, lounging and reading, and sitting in the hot tub in our room staring out at the water. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and decorated beautifully. The host and hostess are friendly and hospitable. It's the perfect getaway if you'd like a relaxing and romantic vacation. You will love going for a stroll on the beach, the yummy Dutch Babies with strawberry for breakfast, and the lovely rooms with a view.

We have stayed in many B&Bs in the U.S. and Europe alike over 32 years. The Baywood Shores B&B scores #1. The B&B building is unassuming from the outside, but from the courtyard to the room it is an adventure. The artwork collected by Gary and Judy and the interior arrangements are comfortable, interesting and engaging. Our room was especially comfortable as my husband is 6'5" and he felt at home in the large room, large king bed, the large jacuzzi tub, the large bathroom and shower, the high ceilings and the openess all around. The view from the room is spectacular whether daylight or night time to the bay and across to the Lincoln City lights. Breakfast was gourmet and varied each of our 3-day stay. The location of the Baywood Shores B&B is so close to downtown without being downtown. It being on the bay's beach, rather than the ocean beach made us feel like we had our own private beach. We will return again and again to visit with Gary and Judy Leighton, their lovely home, the setting and Lincoln City.
