We stayed here about four years ago and loved it. We decided to come back this weekend for our 18 year anniversary. They have made a lot of improvements and are making more. We love this place! We are staying in one of the cabins. There are kitchenettes with coffee beans/grinder/pot, microwave, mini-fridge. TV/DVD player. The decor is amazingly cute! The owner has collected things over the years. The room we stayed in last time had a 60s Art Deco theme. This room has a bunch of doggie themed art, along with a sea theme(to keep with the Inns name). They serve a hot breakfast every morning and have a bar to boot!!
It is a quirkily little place and might not be everyone's cup of tea(they even say that in their website). They allow dogs, but they can't be left unattended in the room, so we just put ours in the car, when we went in for breakfast. That obviously wouldn't be a good idea if it's warms out, but maybe if you have a kennel, that wouldn't be considered unattended?? At least if it's just for breakfast. I understand that an unattended dog in an unfamiliar room could cause issues- damages or noise that others wouldn't appreciate.

Room Tip: the cabins are dog friendly and have kitchenettes hot breakfast served every morning Free book and...

This place is a great value and has a unique, fun atmosphere. It's not for the traveler who requires luxury accommodations with lots of amenities, but rather for the more adventurous traveler who likes to get a true feeling for the place. The rooms (including bedding and linens) are a bit run down, but very clean and functional. Each room is unique and full of little surprises, the service is friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. It's a good place for a quiet retreat, or a getaway with friends.

Room Tip: When you make your reservation, ask for details about the rooms. Each one is completely different f...

Historic Anchor Inn is without a doubt one of the best hotels I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. This place is an absolute gem; a throwback to the days of motor lodges with character and charm. Every room is unique and filled with antique furniture and decorations (I especially loved browsing through old issues of Confidential magazine to see what Charo was up to in 1966). But the homey retro feel doesn't mean this place is dusty - it was impeccably clean, with an excellent bed and all the modern amenities you could want. The bathrooms even had locally handmade soaps and a pile of spare, fluffy towels.

The staff is helpful and friendly, available to give advice or chat about the history of the hotel itself. And the complementary breakfast! This is no pile of brown bananas and a sad jug of Cheerios. We had a full, sit-down, waitress situation with actual options that included fresh pancakes and all the coffee and tea we could drink.

The only complaint I have about this place is that it's so far from where I live. I wish there was a Historic Anchor Inn in every city!

I highly reccommended this place to anyone who is into different non run of the mill places to stay. No this is not for you if your expecting a sterile cookie cutter non interesting place ( Red Lion, ect...) It is for the adventurous currious and looking for the diamond in the rough kind of traveler who values a down home feeling from the friendly staff, and the captivating decor. We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who was happy to show us several rooms before we made a choice. For those vegetetarians and vegans they will happily cook you something special for breakfast as they did that for us. It was delicious and the dining room is really fun with all sorts of interesting things to see. How many places have FREE Popcorn and a free video library with something for everyone to watch? I loved the old books and things to look at. My oh my how we have gotten lost in our search for happiness. I looked at a time magazine about JFK and Kruschive. The amenities were clean and nice but not Wal Mart. The bed was comfortable, shower hot and really good smelling locally made soap to boot. I give it 5 stars. Go and visit and have a good time... Oh they also have a great library selection.

I recently stayed at the Historic Anchor Inn in Lincoln City, Oregon. Definitely different but a very friendly and helpful staff. If you're into the ocean and love antiques, this is the place to be. So many things to look at on the property and in the inn itself, a bit overwhelming at times. Free DVD's and an awesome complimentary breakfast makes it worth while. Never met the actual owner but enjoyed the company of his daughter and the staff that work there. If you are over 6'0", ask for one of the state rooms in the main building, shower is a bit small. Bring your own hairdryer and also shampoo, none provided. Over than that, had a wonderful time there, can't wait to visit again!

Room Tip: Remember, bring your own hairdryer and shampoo, none provided....

I wanted to stay somewhere different than a 5 star hotel on the beach. My search brought me to the Anchor and I was not disappointed. Free DVD rentals and they have a lot, free afternoon popcorn and a breakfast made to order at a great price. I had a small "suite" with a living room and separate bedroom. It's a very short walk to the beach and the furnishings are so funky. I had a fake fireplace, coffee beans , grinder, coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave, and two
flat screen TVs. Not bad and a great price. If you want something a little different, this is the place to go.

We stayed here one night but would happily stay longer and definitely again! We enjoyed a suite in the main inn, popcorn in the entry area, fresh ground coffee in our room, a walk through the campfire area and garden, fabulous breakfast and great hospitality. The inn was very clean, we'll run, full of interesting memorabilia, with access to community kitchen, game room, reading lounge, and other shared spaces. Dogs are welcome in the rooms accessed from outside areas. Oh, and great rates. Maybe not for everyone, but definitely for us!

Room Tip: All rooms I saw looked great. Each one decorated differently, set up w a sitting room, corridor bat...
