“Excellent relaxed place to be in winter”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 January 2012

This was our fourth or fifth stay at Inn at Spanish Head around Christmas time. This time of year most of the towns along this stretch of Oregon Coast are quiet. It's a great time to tour and enjoy all the great shops and galleries with way fewer people than in summer. And, sometimes the weather can be unusually nice. We've had both warm, sunny days and lightly snowy days over the years. Inn at Spanish Head is centrally located to visit places north and south along the coast. The quality of the hotel is excellent, modern (although it's not that new any more), clean, and exceptionally well maintained. Also good is that the room rates are discounted this time of year especially Sunday through Thursday. All of the rooms, studios, suites have full ocean views through big windows, this hotel is right on the beach. Doesn't get any better. Walk out of the hotel and you're right on a great beach. The restaurant is good, too, if you don't feel like driving to another restaurant at the end of the day. Although, I will say, they had an extremely loud and inconsiderate wedding party in the restaurant at the same time we were there this time. The staff explained they don't usually do this, they just thought they would try to fill the otherwise slow restaurant. Big mistake and they should know better. We won't eat here next time, that's just the way it works. We'll get over it eventually, though, I'm sure (in a couple years). This isn't really an ad for Inn at Spanish Head, I just realized how much I like this place as I was writing this (except for the restaurant experience, of course). Overall beats several other very nice places we have stayed (Salishan, Inn at Otter Crest).

Room Tip: All the rooms are great. The bigger ones, of course, are more comfortable.

The staff is by far the best or the worst experience you could have at any establishment. The staff here is exceptional. Very fast, friendly.

The view is exquisuite, and the rooms are awesome. Thanks for a wonderful stay. I will recommend this hotel to any and all I come across.

Great view for the sunset. We slept with the sliding doors open and listened to the beach. It was wonderful. Great staff. Our room was a suite and found it to be very homey and comfortable. The rocks are beautiful and hold secrets of the sea once the tide is out. The Ghost Forest is only 10-15 minutes north and,, once again, when the tide is out you can walk among the petrified stumps of trees that per science.....2000 yrs ago or so, a earthquake or tsunami leveled this area and the tree stumps were buried with sediment and sand. On a good low tide day, some are still visible. A haunting sight to see. Great photos too!

Room Tip: All rooms should have great views of the ocean. We were on the second floor and loved it. Restaura...

Wanted to write a quick review of our time at the Inn at Spanish Head - we had a great time and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very accommodating for our stay. Big thank you to Fran who checked us in for her very professional and friendly demeanor. She really added to the stay as did Amanda who was working with her the evening we arrived. They were both so friendly and pleasant to work with. They also provided some complimentary champagne for a birthday which was very thoughtful and appreciated. The Bellmen were awesome - Chris, Mark and Jim....super pleasant and enjoyed chatting with them as well as their help...made the trip super easy for me while helping a senior parent get situated. The view to our room was spectacular and the room in general was really well laid out.

We had all types of weather from sunny, overcast to stormy our last night - which was very cool too. 60 mile an hour winds howling and the surf in the background....loved it. Couldn't have ordered better weather for each day.

My only complaint which was really minor until dealing with the gal at the front desk when we left (who was no one I'd interacted with before). For starters the hideabed I slept on was incredibly uncomfortable all the way around. My neck a week later is still "out" but almost better. By the time we left I couldn't turn to the left it was so out. Never slept on a hide-a-bed and never will again. Had no idea how crazy uncomfortable that thing was. We checked out and the gal at the front desk was abrupt and dismissive. I think that when someone is in a customer service role - they should never attempt to "prove" the customer wrong. They should be polite, treat the customer with respect and not try to argue. I won't let the last 15 minutes of the trip ruin the other amazing days we had.....I will remember the other 5 people that touched our trip in a very positive way....as it was a very special weekend for my folks and I celebrating my dad's birthday.

The restaurant food was great as well - and room service was speedy and the food HOT when it arrived! Made things very easy for us as well which was appreciated. Thank you to the amazing staff that was so nice and positive on our stay....

Room Tip: Make sure if there are more than two people in the room and a hide-a-bed is the sleeping option that...

We love this part of the beach. There are rocks, so when the tide is out, you can walk out to them and find star fish and all kinds of sea critters and life clinging to the rocks, so take your camera.
The restaurant on the top floor is one of our favorites. The views are great and the food and service is always good. Go early (before 6pm) for the best deals, ask to sit by the window, although all the tables have good views.
The rooms are Condo, so very individually decorated. The beds are very comfortable and Un-Hotel like. Each room has a large balcony and view. You can often ask for their "best deal" and get almost 1/2 off the room rate for some rooms, particularly on non-weekend nights.
Biggest Hot Tub I've ever seen, and it's glassed indoor. The pool is out side, so if it's cold or windy and your brave, go for it.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Always a good choice to stay here.

My husband and I spent our 25th Wedding Anniversary there last week. It was amazing, all of the staff were so nice and helpful, and the rooms speak for themselves. This was our third trip to the hotel, and it is why my husband called and made sure it was the perfect room, (as all of there rooms are different). The views from our room, restaurant, and lounge are unbelievable! We had perfect weather, although a nice winter storm would also be a terrific experience as well. They have a nice game room(pool table, video games, etc.), outdoor heated pool, and spa, so it would make a wonderful family vacation location as well. Their restaurant and lounge had reasonable menus and food was fabulous. I would like to thank all of the staff for the wonderful memories and we look forward to our next stay at the Inn! Teresa
