“Fantastic View”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

We had an overnight stay recently whilst touring the Oregon Coast. Excellent setting with spectacular ocean views. We had a suite on the 8th floor - spacious, comfortable, fully equipped kitchen, lounger and chairs on the balcony. Very friendly and efficient check in and the guy in the bar was also very friendly and gave some good advice on were to go for the afternoon.

The whole experience was spoiled by the dreadful service in the Restaurant. Despite booking for 8pm, we didn't get to sit down until 8.25 and then had to ask someone 15 mins later if they could take our order. The food, when it arrived was nothing special. When we were just about finished we were informed that the Restaurant was closing and that we would have to take our last drinks back to the room as the bar was also closed. To be fair, they did seem a bit busy that night, but the service was a bit abrupt and spoiled our evening.

We have driven by this place a lot and finally decided to give it a try. Very impressed. Super courteous staff who went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. There are ten floors built on the side of a cliff so the views are all great. Nice sandy beach with easy access and a pool make this a great place to stay.

Wow! am I glad I changed plans at the last minute and came to this hotel! Right on the beach, we got an ocean front studio on the first floor. Gorgeous room, very comfortable bed, full kitchen, lounge chairs outside from where you could look right onto the beach. The swimming pool and hot tub were just around the corner. Room was nice and quiet, we never heard a peep from either side or people above. From what we understand, these are all independently owned rooms so you ll never know what you will get. We got very lucky and had a fantastic room. Front desk help was very pleasant. Location of this hotel can not be beat by anything else in this area.
Also, there is a great restaurant on the top floor, very handy.

Room Tip: first floor is most convenient if you want to walk right out to the beach and swimming pool

I visited this hotel for an evening for a wedding and was really impressed with the hotel as a whole. The rooms are efficiency style with a separate sink, fridge and microwave. The beds are fantastic, the linens are great and the views are breathtaking. I would absolutely recommend this place to a friend. As a weekly traveler and hotel snob, this place is a win on the coast of Oregon.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the pacific. The weather is great in the summer to leave the door open and hear t...

I am in a 1 bedroom unit with a living room and kitchen and it's very comfortable (room 836).
The armchairs swivel so you can look outside or turn at talk or watch tv. The bed is much too soft for my tastes. We can easily hear the baby crying on the other side of the living room wall, but fortunately, no one has been sleeping in the living room. There's a great hot tub and okay, heated pool. The fitness room is 2 treadmills and a bike (I think). There is a restaurant with the hotel, where we had a nice dinner. The beach is great for walking, especially when it's low tide. However, one needs to remember that it's rarely above 65 on the beach.

There is pretty good wifi in the rooms, however, no Verizon reception in the rooms. However, it's fine on the beach and local calls are free through the hotel.

Room Tip: Higher is better. There are some first floor rooms that have people walking right by the patio; i...

This was the second time staying at this hotel. I would recommend staying Sunday through Thursday for better rates. We stayed last Friday evening and had to look at three different rooms to finally settle on one. The price point during Friday and Saturday is very high, and upgrade rates are steep. I would recommend the North-West side, and the 8th floor for best views. The Murphy Bed specials are on the South side and the views are not as good. Also, some of the Murphy Bed suites are not as well cared for and have maintenance issues.

We at the hotel’s restaurant and the food was good. Again, the North-West seating is the best. Call ahead to make reservations for best seating, we did this for our early dinner and next morning’s breakfast.

The convenience right on the beach is wonderful. The parking arrangements are difficult though.

Exploring the Rocks right off of the North-West beach side is a lot of fun during low tide. The large Rock has the most treasures (covered in Muscles and Starfish); however, be careful for we had to wait a bit to get off the rocks due to the tide coming back and getting higher during our explorations.

Overall, very nice location for a short getaway for family, couples, and business traverlers.

What a beautiful place! We used their catering and meeting rooms for a memorial and luncheon, and it was fantastic. Really good food, and rooms looking out on the ocean. It was a difficult time for the family but the staff made it so easy for us.
