Owner description: The Culinary Center in Lincoln City is a great place to explore your culinary side. From cook-offs to classes there’s something to fit everyone’s experience level. The Culinary Center features seasonally-inspired cooking and focuses on the abundant foods of the Pacific Northwest. Classes offer a wide array of subjects and cuisines. In a demonstration class it’s your job to sit back, relax, and enjoy the wonderful food and wine while you learn from a pro. Or dive right into one of their hands-on classes…from pasta-making to fish cookery, dim sum, tamales, pizza, sushi, and even pickling and canning our Oregon harvest in the summer and fall.

“Check out the Cookoffs here!”
Reviewed 28 January 2013

We visited in January 2013, for the Jambalaya Cookoff. First time we'd been to any of their cookoff events (they also have a fish taco one and clam chowder and maybe some others throughout the year). We enjoyed the jamalaya event. It was very crowded, though - apparently more and more folks are hearing about these events and coming to them. There was no admission charge for this, just bought "tokens" for 50 cents each, and one token was good for a small 'taste' of a vendor's jambalaya. You could get a small bowl for $3 if you wanted more than just a small taste. There were also vendors there with beer, wine, water, cupcakes and other goodies (those you had to pay for directly, couldn't use the tokens). We had a very nice time at this even and now hope to be able to come back for the Clam Chowder cookoff in the fall (I was told that event is now held in a larger venue).

“Saturday Cook Classes”
Reviewed 18 August 2012

Whenever I come to the Oregon Coast I plan ahead to enroll in a Saturday cook class (usually 11-1). The menu varies and the instructors are consistent! Class of 20. Overhead monitors to watch professional cooks do their thing...wonderful food, fun people, accompanied by 2-3 glasses of wine. $50...what a steal! Go alone or with friends.
