“The best nights sleep ever.”
Reviewed 16 May 2011

Our room was a bit pricey. But well worth it and won't stay anywhere else. The room was magnificent and smelled great. We got the romance package and we had an ocean front balcony. The fire place was great with the back door open all night listening to the ocean. Wished we could have stayed longer. The bathroom was awesome with a huge jetted bath tub that was awesome. I would highly recommend to anyone for some wonderful relaxing time.

Room Tip: Spend the extra money. Get the best room, AMAZING

We had a wonderful stay at the Coho. I would recommend the Sunset Suite to any couple looking for a romantic stay on the ocean. The room was perfect, loved the oversized bathroom with large shower and soaking tub and starting the day with great coffee provided fresh at the fron desk. We had pizza delivered direct to the firepits and watched the sun go down. I plan to return to the Coho as often as I can

Nice, clean comfy, great view. However, the bathroom door kept coming off of the hinge. It was like a slider door for a closet. My biggest peeve is that they fail to inform you that they dont have enough parking for their customers in their immediate parking lot. Two nights in a row there were not enough parking spaces. They did not even tell us at check in that they had another parking lot across the street. First night, I made my own parking spot. The second night, they asked me to move my vehicle across the street. Internet access is terrible. Would be faster if they set up dial-up in each room as it constantly disconnects between 3-4 different connections of theirs. This is not cool as I am a traveling businesswoman with an online business and must have good internet access. Beach access is a short distance, but not right outside the hotel as its on a cliff over the beach. Would be very difficult for anyone with disabilities to get down to the beach unless you drove there (you can park directly on the shore). Service was nice though but overall if you are paying for a really nice suite and/or a room on the top floor, I think you should have a reserved parking space. I could have gotten just as nice of a room next door with a promised parking space and functioning internet.

We were pleased to hear you enjoyed room, view, and service. My sincere apologies for the issue with the door - we should have caught that in our room inspection. Our staff is trained to explain parking options during check-in -- I will re-emphasize this point as well. Our belief is reserved parking creates more issues than is solves, therfore, parking is first come first serve. Rooms in our new wing do have direct hardwire connectivity for internet access - our business guests often request these rooms. When there are issues with our Wi Fi coverage they are typically resolved within a few hours.

We appreciate the feedback and hope to get another chance to earn your business.

We have been coming to the Coho for over 25 years, not so much in the last few. This was our first visit since the renovation and we were very dissappointed. Room was nice but too big for two people, had a bedroom we didn't need or use, the table and two chairs were in a corner and the table is smaller, almost too small to eat on, and heavy. The chairs are large and heavy and don't have castors or swivels anymore and are very hard to move around. The ceilng light that used to be over the table is no more. The book about the Coho shows a list of TV channels on the 1st or 2nd page which is good BUT it shows that channel 7 is the TV Guide channel and 65 is Syfi. Both of these channels have no signal as they aren't included in the Coho's contract with Charter Cable which we found out by calling Charter. There are several channels that aren't listed including several music channels. When we got there there was no phone book in the room but when asked the staff gave us one which was outdated but better than nothing.

In the kitchenette area the two burner stove the back burner has only one heat HIGH or off and the front burner which worked like it was supposed to had a knob that was cutting a groove in the front of the stove and was very hard to turn. The refrigerator worked but there are no longer any racks on the door and there was not enough space to put in a quart of milk with out laying it on its side which caused it to leak a little bit. There was no lid for the frying pan to keep spatters down, There was no rubber spatula of any kind and no paper towels. We improvsed and used one of the washcloths for a dish rag as all they had was a well used sponge/scrubber combination.

The patio had two chairs but did not have any type of patio table.

The bathroom could have used brighter lighting and the lights over the sink hang right at eye level and make it very hard to see in the mirror to shave or put on make up. They did have a lighted mirror in the corner of the counter which was ok but didn't help much. The bath tub is smaller than it used to be and is very hard to soak in.

Now for what we did like. The shower was very nice. The television is a flat screen HD and has a very good picture and sound. The pictures on the walls were nice, the carpet is fairly new and we liked it both in color and feel. The stand for the TV is also a desk which can also be used for a computer. They have free WiFi and it is fairly fast and only got disconnected once though sometimes you have to try to connect two or three times before it connects. The bed was very comfotable and we were able to sleep very well.

The staff was mixed, on arrival we met Crystal and Jeremy who were supper employees who went out of there way to make us feel welcome. The next day we met Bonnie in the office as we were looking around and letting her know that the carafe for the French Press coffee maker had broken. She said she would replace it but forgot to send one to our room. She was pre-occupied cutting out something with scissors.

We are dissappionted your stay did not meet expectations. Our renovation was done under the direction of renown interior designer (Ankrom Moisan) -- while the vast majority of our guests have raved about the changes, we respect that some might not find it to their liking. I do apologize for the issues you encountered - most are simple fixes and should have been caught during our room inspection prior to your arrival.

Once again, we respect and appreciate your opinion, and the time you took in writing this review.

Great staff--very helpful from the time of our reservation through our stay. We were lucky enough to come in on a Friday, when they had wine tasting and free chair massages--what a way to get into a relaxing time at the beach! The view from our second floor balcony was fantastic, and we enjoyed the sound of the ocean overnight. There is a free shuttle right across the street to the casino, for more food and entertainment opportunities. They even provide coffee, fresh-ground several times a day, on demand.

I was very impressed with this hotel. It was a very small regular motel, that very well remodeled recently and has a spectacular view of the ocean. The front desk clerk, Jeremy, was very impressed with the hotel too as he described the amenities while grinding fresh beans for our room's french press (no charge). He proved on-target.

Will be back and recommend to friends and family.
