Our family had a wonderful four day stay at The Coho. The staff was all friendly and very accommodating. Our room was perfect for a family of four, and the view was amazing! The kids loved the breakfast. It's a very short walk to the beautiful beach, and we had a great time looking at the tidal pools every morning. The pool and hot tub were enjoyed by the entire family. I've already told several girlfriends that this will be a great place for a ladies getaway.

We absolutely loved our room at the Coho! We had an extra room for the kids and a deck, fireplace and killer view of the ocean!

Coffee with french press was wonderful and having a fridge was helpful in addition to the little kitchen area. Bathroom was a bit small to share with 4 individuals but the rest of the room more than made up for it.

We called in before our trip to upgrade but the customer service to begin with not welcoming at all..As for the staff upon our arrival, the one individual that was helpful for our entire stay and kind (Rhandy, I think short for Miranda maybe) but appeared overworked and not receiving much help from the individual called into help her. The individual helping her did not attempt to engage in a smile or a conversation and proceeded to indicate she was there from another property because they were short handed and didn't know anything. No doubt this hotel would receive more rave reviews if the customer service was better. The individuals during the morning and day did not even look up at you when you walked into the office and unless you asked a question would not even acknowledge you. Clearly were not happy. Sadly for the owners because this place is such a little gem. As their moods set the tone for everyone that works there. Guest treating others in a manner they may not deserve b/c the desk staff choose to not acknowledge paying individuals.

And as for the housekeeping and those blessing the guest with the continental breakfast, all were kind, courtesy and greeted you. Especially if they were greeted and thanked for their services. I wish I could mention them all by names but no one except Rhandy wore a name tag. Thank you to Rhandy, the housekeeping staff and those that made our stay enjoyable by their customer service.

The view is what made this trip for us. And the restaurant overlooking the ocean just down the beach from the hotel, the best Salmon ever! (also an incredible recommendation by Rhandy)

Room Tip: definitely call and upgrade to a view if you can

Hello Dbilliot,

Thank you for an amazing review of The Coho. Our family suites are spacious enough for a small family with great views and lots to do on the Oregon Coast. We will address all the staff members to be friendlier and acknowledge our valued guests. Kyllos is the name of the restaurant with the great salmon which I have had also and I agree it is pretty good. We hope to see you soon on your next visit to The Coho.

My hubby and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon. all of our interactions with he staff were very pleasant. In the hotel office they have various things for sale such as drinks, snacks, wine, and "Coho" souvenirs. They also have many games and DVDs available for rent. Our room was very nice, clean, and modern. The cozy fireplace was an awesome pair with the sound of the ocean. The ocean is so close to the hotel, it feels like you are right on the beach...an what a great view it is! We completely enjoyed our stay at the Coho Oceanfront Lodge and would stay here again.

My wife and I stayed at the coho on our honeymoon and enjoyed our stay very much. We came from ND and booked this hotel after looking on tripadvisor, so we weren't exactly sure what to expect, but the staff was very friendly, the view of the ocean was amazing, the rooms were very well kept, and I was very surprised how reasonable the prices were. Hotels like this are one of the reasons Oregon made such a great destination and if we ever get to go again this is where we would like stay.

Stayed for 3 nights with family, great hotel. That is coming from someone in hospitality industry. Employees seemed genuinely to care for their guests needs and even though the building is old, it was well maintained. Other negative reviews about building were unwarranted, will stay here next year and recommend to others. Great job COHO.

Other thoughts....

Hot tub and pool missing directional jets. Striker plates in bathroom were too far forward not letting lock engage in room.

We stayed at the Coho Oceanfront Lodge for 5 nights and overall enjoyed our stay. Reason for 4 stars is we were on the ground floor and the kids above were jumping off their bed early in the morning, but they only stayed 2 nights. Also, for such a nice room we were surprised at how small the bathroom was. It was recently remodeled, the sink area was outside the bathroom, the toilet and bathtub were within a very small room. But, we worked it out, just use to larger areas. We were in a Fireplace Suite which had a king bed in the main room with a fireplace, kitchenette, and table for two, also a second bedroom with a queen bed. The room is quite nice, and just perfect for our girls week away visiting cousins. The location is great as we could walk out our slider and sit on our patio or walk over and view the beautiful ocean up and down the coast. You can also walk down to the water and tide pools as there is an access a short distance away. My suggestion if you don't want to hear the people above you, book the top floor. Overall, had a nice stay and would book again.

Room Tip: Book your room on the top floor so you don't hear people above you, mainly kids running. However...

We spent 5 nights in a fireplace suite. Liked that the kids had their own room with queen bed but would have preferred suite with kids bunk beds. Front room had king bed and kitchenette was a plus. When looking at other hotels in the area, bed situation was a key factor (i.e separate room for kids). Liked that The Coho stocked 4 each of plates, glasses and coffee mugs as well as silverware and basic utensils. We stayed here last year also and only had a shower but this time we had a shower tub combo. We noticed that each room has something different, like room next door had amazing looking walk in shower. Balcony is great and we slept almost every night with slider open. We brought wood for a fire on the beach but beware of the wind. Too windy for us to have a fire. Depending on the time of year, the wind can be ferocious. Best advice is to make reservations more than a month in advance, ask for room with bunk beds if u have kids and to take more of your own food in cooler because dining on balcony often beats local restaurants.

Hello Fabvagtrp,

Thank you for a great review of The Coho. Our kids suite with bunk beds is very popular during the summer season with limited availability. Our reservation agents would be happy to book them for you on our next visit. We have many room types to try to meet the expectations for all our guests from tiny kids to furry kids and especially our adult sunset suites. We hope to see you soon at The Coho.
