“The hotel was ok but....”

I get into the room #221 and it was hot and stuffy from being closed up for awhile. I opened up the windows and there wasnt much of a breeze...the day had been sunny and warm. I couldn't find the A/C unit. I call down to the desk and find out there is no a/c in the rooms. Was told,"you are on the coast and a/c is not needed. " They sent me up a table fan. It finally did cool off but my first night there was uncomfortable. All units have stairs to walk up and down....even the first floor you walk down a flight of stairs. The casino is not close by if you have trouble walking. We ended up driving back and forth from the room to casino and back again. All things considered we had a fun time there but next time I would consider another hotel room off premises. Since we drove anyway what would be the difference of driving a little farther to get a/c in the rooms and rooms that were a bit "older arthritic people friendly."

Lots of ocean view rooms. 3 floors, only the 1st floor has outside access. No balconies on 2 or 3 so bottom floor is best if you want to go directly out to ocean. From the front, the first floor is down some steps, with the second floor being up a few. Less steps to 2nd floor, but you can lift bags up to ground level on exit for easier loading. Rooms I. The 30's and 40's, as in 144 & 237 are closest to the indoor pool area. A 8 spot hit tub pool and about a 25 by 50 foot pool. Rooms in 50's are closest to the casino.
Rooms have been updated from the Shilo hotel days. Nice decor, nice bed, and flat screen TV. The outside still has that coastal beat up and rust in spots look.

The hotel is slightly above average, but the view can't be beat! Great place for beach walks, close to downtown Lincoln City, and there's the casino next door. It's a good place to eat and do a little gambling--lots of slots and table games. We go down there often.

Room Tip: Go for the 2nd or 3rd floor--better views--and of course ask for beachfront!

There are dirty rubber gloves in the top of the hall closet. The bathroom had Armadillidiidae (roly poly) bugs. We killed them and then came back to find more. The shower does not drain at all, which was probably the grossest part of all. The tub was not wiped down and the water filled up immediately with debris from the drain. The bed and linens seemed good, but we will never stay here again.

We have stayed many times at chinook winds hotel and have yet to have a bad experience. The price you pay when you use your chinook winds player cards makes it one of the most affordable choices for its convient location. They are an excellent choice for anyone traveling with dogs. Another wonderful bonus feature of this hotel is the rooms do have mini fridges as well as smoking and non smoking rooms. I did however mark service as poor mainly due to the fact that they have never accommodated me on checking in early. This may not be a problem for others but if your traveling a long distance to the coast this is a problem that may arise if your timing isn't perfect. Another thing to keep in mind is this hotel is frequently booked and you will usually need to book it a couple weeks in advance. But With all of the amenities I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel is average nothing fancy We stayed on floor 3 in building B. The second floor is ground level on the front of the building so it's nice to only have to climb one flight of stairs to get to the third floor. The hotel is very close to the casino just a parking lot away and there is a shuttle bus. there's a great view of the ocean and the tide pools were great the day we were there. It was $79 a night on a Friday night, a really decent price. we stayed here before and we will stay here again. they do not have a complimentary breakfast, but the casino has a great buffet

I ordered a bowl of steamed clams. The waitress brings out a greasy fried pile of what looks like fish. It turns out it's fried razor clams- I told her I wanted the steamed clams - she says that's only on the appetizer menu and walks off. My husband and I look at each other like what the hell. My husband tried to cut a bite and it was like a rubber shoe. We joked maybe it was a flip flop they got off the beach. The waitress came back and asked if we wanted a box, I said no this is gross. She just left check and stomped off. We couldn't believe it- how'd this lady even get a job? We left her a penny tip and left the disgusting plate of rubber too. 14.95 for a fried flip flop won't ever go in there again.
