Great place to stay nice pool and hot tub. Staff is helpful. Stayed one night to go see the awesome fireworks show in Warm Springs, Oregon. Swan all afternoon, saw the town of Madras. Worked out in gym. Went to Warm Springs saw the light show returned to hotel , parked right in front of our room. Ate a late dinner with daughter and grandchildren oh yea Hubby too., and nephew Joshua. Relaxed watched a movie... then off to slumberland... woke up around 9am so we missed the breakfast, but ran to McDonalds right down the road. So all good. Let grandson swim again before we headed home.

Great stay at the Madras Best Western. This hotel is clean, has a good morning breakfast. The pool and hot tub are clean and fun to have. The owners care about your stay and asked often wether they could help out in any way.

Room Tip: Get a 1st floor room near the pool and hot tub

As we traveled through Oregon we chose to stay in Madras, OR because lodging rates were considerably less than those in Bend, OR. We chose the Best Western Madras Inn and made reservations online for a quiet room. The room rate was $95 +tax. When we checked in about 4:00 p.m. it was obvious that the desk clerk (and I assume owner) had not read our reservation request for a quiet room. When I told her that we wanted a quiet room per our reservation request she was taken aback and said there weren't any left. She found one that was in sort of an alcove of the building but it was still very close to the highway. An earlier check of our reservation by her would probably have resulted in our being placed much farther away from the highway in a part of the building that was shielded from the noise by another building wing.

The Best Western Madras Inn is an older facility and the Best Western organization should reconsider branding their name on it because it is just a bit run down and not representative of BW quality. It is interesting to see the different grades of quality from one Best Western facility to the next. Some are very nice and some are marginal. It is getting to the point that one now must start looking for the BWplus to get a nicer, cleaner, updated room.

The room was clean, as were the linens and towels. The bed was nicely firm with a padded top which provided for comfort. There were no sags, lumps, or bumps. The motel is right next to the main street through town and there was considerable traffic noise until about 12:30 a.m. We ran the air conditioning for both cooling and for back ground white noise to drown out the traffic noise. However, there was a considerable musty odor coming from the ac unit and I assume it was because of either dust or mold trapped in the ac filter. The TV remote was one of the "clean" types that can be washed off easily.

Our room was on the second floor, which we requested so that we would not hear noise from overhead room occupants. The hotel does not have an elevator to the second floor but that was acceptable to us. All the rooms are accessed from an outer walkway rather than an internal hallway.

The complimentary breakfast was the typical dry cereal, yogurt, OJ, coffee, Danish rolls, scrambled eggs, and bacon or sausage links. Very typical of the continental breakfasts served at almost all motels.

The hotel has a nice looking swimming pool but we did not partake of the opportunity. Madras, OR is a small town and most everything is within walking distance from the motel.

We would probably not stay in this motel again but would look for another in the area with similar or higher rating even if it cost a bit more.

A very average hotel, it has all the bare necessities of a Best Western. The staff was either not well trained or not very caring, at check in. was in a Smoking Room at first (my booking mistake) which was really stinky and burned my eyes, oh by the way the carpet had 25-30 burns in it as well. staff response was not very helpful on a room change until I offered to pay any price, to change.

The bed had little support and I woke up with a sore back. I had to check out a day early just to find a bed that didn't make things worse. When I told the woman at the desk the bed was too soft she sort of giggled and told me someone told her the beds were too hard.

Thanks to reviews on TripAdvisor, we booked our overnight stay here while traveling from WA to CA. The staff was extremely helpful, and even recommended a very nice place for dinner. We asked for a downstairs room, and got #103, which was adjacent to the breakfast room (but noise was not a problem in the AM). The room was nicely appointed, very clean, and we enjoyed our stay. There was a very small pool, a hot tub, and an exercise room, but we did not use them. One plus here was that cars were parked in an adjacent lot, not next to the first-floor doors--no excessive noise when people began to leave in the AM. Breakfast was OK--scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuit and gravy, juice, coffee, waffles, and dry cereal, and the wait staff was attentive when OJ ran out.

The bed was OK, but a bit too soft for both of us, and when we got ready to get into bed, saw that the housekeeping staff did not have fitted bottom sheets to use, which would be a nice improvement so we would not have to tuck the sheet back in. Linens were in great shape. Nice larger screen TV with lots of channel choices. All in all, a nice place to stay. Cost for a king NS room with tax was $110.

The man staffing the desk when we checked in referred us to a restaurant named Geno's. It was a short three-block walk, and was nicer than we might have expected in a town the size of Madras. There were lots of entree choices, but we went with pasta dishes, which were very good and fairly priced. We would go back again if ever in Madras again. By the way, the desk man said that Rio's in the same neighborhood has very good Mexican food.

Good place to stop along the northern east side of the Oregon Cascades. Prices more reasonable than other BW motels in the area. Friendly staff. Black Bear diner just two blocks away Stayed twice over two week period. First time the king bed was excellent. Second time in a different room king bed was too soft. If bed status is an issue, you might check out the room before committing.
