Great place, great staff, perfect location. It was like small apartment living on the waterfront. Comfortable and new inside but with a rustic cabin feel to it still. Cute little courtyard. Even had our own secure garage. We had a GREAT time. Thank you Ocean Inn. We will be back!

Dear Michelleannef23,
We are glad you enjoyed your stay. It sounds like you were in the front building, where the units were built in the 40’s. We have tried hard to keep the “rustic” charm from that era without being too dated. The garages are a nice feature as well especially with the amount of rain we get here on the coast! Thanks so much for the great review and hope to see you again soon!

We decided to take our family to the beach for the weekend after discerning that our Mom's stress level was very detrimental to her cancer count. We were five adults and a service animal, it was Friday early evening, we were in the car and headed in the direction of the beach with no idea of our specific destination. I tried several hotels with no luck before I called the Ocean Inn in Manzanita. The reservation process went incredibly smoothly. I wish I remembered the manager's name because she went above and beyond good customer service. The room was clean, modern, spacious and comfortable. The view was beautiful!! Fresh ground Astoria Coffee Company coffee and dark chocolate seashells were a delightful touch. Cable TV and DVD player plus free WI-FI were quite a bonus for us, especially at that reasonable of a price. Every staff member we met provided that same standard of exceptional service. We did puzzles, laughed, visited, watched movies and walked the magnificent beach just a few steps from the Hotel. We came back in a much better frame of mind after a magical stay with more courage and strength in our reserves to face our challenges at home. I would recommend this hotel to anyone in need of a hassle free oasis of calm and relaxation. Also, the manager gave us a discounted rate just because... It was great!!

We stayed at the Ocean Inn for three nights in December 2013 during our honeymoon along the Oregon Coast. While we found our room 103 to be very clean and spacious, it's a bit exaggerated to say our room in their "Oceanfront Building" had much of an oceanfront view. Yes, there's a small peaked window in the upper corner of the living room where if you strain on tiptoe you can catch a faint glimpse of the ocean. By the description of the building and room we had imagined a place where you could sit and watch the sea in a relaxed way either from our room or balcony. True, the facility is right next to the beach ... but don't expect a view from your room. Furthermore, the two rather glum women in the office were not especially welcoming, only interested in checking us in and out, taking our money ... and nothing more. They could have been more personable offering restaurant information, where to buy groceries or at least showing us where our room was located rather than just pointing vaguely down the road. Very disinterested. Not exactly what we had in mind. To say the overall experience of staying at Ocean Inn was "average" is giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Room Tip: Keep in mind that "an oceanfront room" does NOT mean "oceanfront view" here. If...

Dear Mascalzone,
I am sorry that back in December you had an unpleasant time while staying with us. Although we have never had a complaint about our staff before there are no excuses for a non-friendly/non-informative reception. I will certainly address that issue.

We find it quite disconcerting your inaccurate reference to the views and descriptions of the room. You stated, “in the upper corner of the living room where if you strain on tiptoe you can catch a faint glimpse of the ocean.” This window is located in the corner of the room and goes to the ceiling. The bottom point is 8 inches above the seat cushion. It is very easy to look out of when standing in front of or sitting in the large window seat.

We are very careful when describing our rooms because of the irregular layout of our buildings. There are very clear photos on our website to show you exactly where the room is located (including an Airial shot of our property with location labels of each room) and what you see when you are in the rooms. My staff is very particular when describing our rooms and leading potential guests to our website for photos to clarify any questions.

Nowhere do we state that this is an “oceanfront room” with an “oceanfront view” as you indicated in your review. Our website and printed literature for unit #3 reads, ”This cozy second floor unit, tucked back, has one bedroom, full bath with Jacuzzi tub, full kitchen and living room with an enticing peak to the south of the Pacific Ocean”. You can see the ocean while sitting on the balcony, and in the kitchen you can see a “peak of the ocean” out of the window seat window while standing at the counter that divides the Kitchen and the living room.

I am sorry you were not happy with our offerings at Ocean Inn.

We loved our stay at the Ocean Inn in Manzanita, the location right on the beach is spectacular. Our room was immaculate, cozy, and private. All the little details were thought of, the luxury linens, very nice toiletries, and the local touches of coffee and chocolates made it really special. Definitely our favorite place to stay in Manzanita!

A friend of ours asked us down to Ocean Inn for the weekend. They stayed in Room 1 and we stayed in Room 6. They love the Ocean Inn and call it their second home. I would also agree. The room was very spacious and being a "pet friendly" room, the room was immaculate. Also, they thought of everything. They had a pack and play for our daughter and dog bowls and towels for our dog. The kitchen was also stocked with the basic necessities. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I also loved how close it was to everything. We loved this place so much, we booked four nights in April. It was definitely a home away from home.

Greetings Snoman12,
Thanks for the nice review. This is the second time we have heard home away from home in a very short time. We are happy to provide for all who stay with us, whether it be; a baby, senior citizen or a pet that you may bring with you.
Being a small town we are close to everything that Manzanita has to offer.
Looking forward to seeing you in April!

Dear Donald S.,
Room #8 is a great, tucked back just far enough to feel like you are away from all that is going on.
Providing our customers with quality products is high on our list. We take that seriously and use only products we would use ourselves.
Glad you enjoyed your visit, thank you for the review, and we will see you when you return!

Manzanita is our favorite beach town, and now we've finally found a home away from home there that works for us.
The Ocean Inn is beautifully appointed, with great attention to detail. We loved the decor, the little touches of "green" consciousness visible throughout, the proximity to the ocean and the great views. We were in a unit that did not front the beach, but had an awesome view and a sense of privacy that was lovely.
Little touches show that the management really cares.

Room Tip: Room 5 isn't ocean frontage, sometimes costs less than other units-- and it was perfect for us...

Hello 608default,
It is refreshing and rewarding to hear, “Home away from home”! Every customer likes something different and we are glad we have what you like!
One thing that stands out in my mind for a favorite beach town is of course the beauty, but also the people in the town. The locals and the visitors contribute greatly to the feeling in every town.
Thanks for the great review and hope you will be a “visitor” again soon at Ocean Inn!
