“Room and raft trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2014 via mobile

This was our 3rd stay. We spent 2 relaxing nights with a river view. It was wonderful to relax with our kids and no distractions by tv. Very clean room. Comfy beds. Great breakfast. Had a great raft trip with a confident and safe guide. Will definitely be back to relax by the fire pit and have more great tacos from the restaurant.

Each room is different. The newer section is better... had a funky room in the old part a few years ago so now I get an upstairs room overlooking the river. The clientele is noisy, often partying rafters and fisherman. Downstairs rooms are guaranteed to have pounding overhead. It is a nice place, though.

I'm naturally a bit nervous about resorts in the "outback" and was pleasantly surprised with my stay in Maupin at the Imperial River Co. For two days I had nothing but positive. The room was more than adequate with a wonderful view of the river. Every staff member were awesome and left only great impressions. The river trip was great and the guides made the time very memorable in addition to the beauty and periodic exhilaration of class 3 rapids with a class 4 for added excitement. At the end of my stay I was sorry to leave and am glad for the solution of a future visit!

Great place to lodge for Deschutes white water rafting; also a great spot for a catered all day business event with 20 plus people in the room. Especially accommodating friendly staff. The afternoon on the river with the Lodge based guides was a home run!!

Room Tip: Rooms on the North Side give you a view of or access to the River

My wife and I stayed overnight at this hotel on the banks of there Deschutes River. The location is a favorite for flyfishing and river rafting. It is also a nice base from which to see the high desert.

The hotel was quiet, although early evening brings the rafting crowd back to their base with a lot of stories to tell, and a few drinks. All was quiet by 10:30 that night.

In summary, this is a great spot with a fine restaurant as well as a nice hotel.

Room Tip: Our room was on the ground floor with a river view from our patio (2 chairs and a table). The secon...

Our room was overlooking the river- beautiful view! The breakfast was nice.
However, there were hundreds of gnats in the room at nite, hovering around our faces, the bed, on the walls, etc....Then we noticed thousands of dead ones on the deck, outside the room and all over the exterior walls. We complained- and to their credit- the manager gave us a night's discount. They definitely need to have the entire hotel and the grounds fumigated!
Also, the bedspreads were not clean. For the price of this hotel, we were not pleased.
The manager, Meredith, who assisted us, was concerned and courteous!

I have been coming to the Imperial for nearly 15 years, and have always enjoyed the location, food, and lodging. This weekend, my wife and I brought our son here to go rafting on the Deschutes for the 1st time. We were searching for something special, as our son just finished up serving in Afghanistan for the previous 9 months. Everything about our time at the Imperial exceeded our expectations. The cold beer in the bar, the full rack of ribs, great conversations with guests, and especially the full day 18 mile river float with Andy. A perfect balance of adventure, thrills, safety, comedy, and scenery. We loved every minute of it. The owners and the staff are what make this place special.
