“Delightful B&B”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

Well maintained and decorated charming place; walking distance from downtown. Caring flexible owners. We were in town for a biking event and had to leave each morning prior to the official breakfast time. To our delightful surprise, owners were ready with excellent make-shift breakfast.
Only "asterisk" is: Be aware that while the common area downstairs IS air-conditioned, the rooms upstairs are not, which might be an issue during the hottest days of summer. Didn't bother us... maybe because of the cooled air that found its way from the downstairs.
Highly recommended and we will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Rooms' size and price varies. Check the Inn's website or call and consult with owners.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your kind comments. We are actually air conditioned throughout the B&B. As it is an old home, vintage 1928, our air conditioning flows through the original air vents and in some rooms comes in with a shout and in others with a whisper. Some rooms are so cooled off that guests adjust the vents to prevent too much cooling. :) I believe you were the wonderful cycling gentleman who was kind enough to share bread from Ken's Artisan Bakery in Portland. In that case, you were in the Portofino Room which whispers rather than shouts. And we were experiencing higher than average daily temperatures during your visit. I regret that I did not point out that we have a fan strategically placed in front of the air conditioning vent to further distribute cool air. I did notice that the fan migrated to a table in the evening and that may be why you did not experience optimal cooling. All other rooms have a very strong air flow and I apologize for any discomfort during your stay. in any case, our guests comfort is of prime importance. I had our AC company check the vent in your room and it was deemed sufficient for air flow, We have also purchased a portable AC unit in case any guest in the future experience excessive heat issues.
Kind Regards,
Liz Rolland

My husband and I spent a couple of nights at A 'Tuscan Estate Bed and Breakfast. First the room that we wanted when we booked was already taken, but Liz was so nice and offered us an upgrade to the Craftsman suit. Both owners Liz and Jacques were very gracious hosts and went out of their way to offer us great information on where to go and what to do in the area. The place has a great location with a walking distance to the middle of the town. Breakfasts were very delicious and every plate was well crafted! We truly enjoyed everything from fresh baked pastries, fresh juice, quiches, homemade jams, to cheese. Jacques great sense of humor was the icing on the cake. We will definitely go back! Thank you Liza and Jacques for the memorable get a way.

We arrived late and were greeted by Liz the innkeeper. She kindly showed us to our room and reminded us of the treats to come including asking us what time we would like our gourmet breakfast. When morning came, the coffee smelled heavenly and the room was equally delightful. The breakfast prepared by Jacques (Liz's husband) was out of this world. I couldn't believe my eyes ... homemade croissants, butter, and jam followed by fromage blanc with berries and finished with amazing truffle eggs. This place is humble and quaint - I miss it and hope to return soon.

Spent two nights here in July. We stayed in the Tuscan suite. Owners were gracious and helpful. They provided us with tasting passes to many local wineries. Decor was lovely. Breakfasts were creative, delicious and very French. Helpful recommendations, both to local restaurants and wineries, were greatly appreciated.

Evening wine/cheese might further enhance the experience.

As mentioned in other reviews, we did not find the owners' attempt to sell truffle oil or truffle salt to be offensive, as it seemed a natural part of the experience at the Inn.

We will definitely spend more time at this B & B, and strongly recommend it to others, when we return to the Oregon Wine country.

As a family of 10 who meets once a year it is sometimes difficult to find a place which meets everyone's needs. Forget arguing who gets the best room -- at a'Tuscan every room is "the best." All of our needs were not just met -- they were anticipated. We had meetings and dinners at the house and Liz supplied everything we needed and she directed us to restaurants and caterers we used and found everything she suggested perfect. As for the breakfast each day, what can we say but "magnifique". We could not choose a favorite -- chicken crepes, quiche, tomato volcano or the woman with the long bean hair! Jacques himself is quite a masterpiece and Las Vegas' loss is Oregon's gain. You just can't help but love this place and its' owners. Be sure to take home some of Jacques' homemade jams, truffle oil and truffle salt. We'll be sure to come back before we run out. Many many thanks to Liz, Jacques and the lovely town and people of McMinnville for making this one if our most memorable vacations ever!

Room Tip: All rooms are perfection, but for enjoying time with friends the craftsman house is just wonderful...

A' Tuscan Estate Bed and Breakfast is by far the best B&B I've ever stayed in. The Liz and Jacques were very gracious hosts, and their accomodations were exceptional. Best of all, the food was absolutely incredible. An agriturismo is the US. Slow Foods would definitely approve.

We spent the weekend at this lovely little B&B in McMinnville. It met our expectations and then some. The location was perfect, the accommodation was adorable and the food was delicious. Liz and Jacques are both so sweet and really make your stay. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: The carriage house was very quiet and private, just next door to the main house.
