“Great, cozy place, but suggest reservations.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014

After a long day of driving from Vancouver BC, we decided setting up a tent in the rain wasn't how we wanted to start our camping trip. We happened across the bunkhouse and decided to give it a try. I really enjoyed how rustic it was, very homey. The TV channels aren't much but there are plenty of DVDs in the office. We stayed in cabin 1 (i think) for one night. The only gripe I have is that a double bed doesn't bode well for 2 adults. I'm sure if we'd made a reservation instead of happening by, it wouldn't have been an issue. Would I stay again? Absolutely!

We were charged $500 to clean our room because they found some dog hairs in our room. We own a pet but he did not stay in our room, so they found some hairs that had come off of our clothes, bags, etc.

While they did tell us we would be charged $1500 if we let our pet stay in the room, they did not tell us they would score the room to find any hairs and then charge us exorbitant rates if they found even one dog hair.

Do yourself a favor, and if you have pets STAY FAR AWAY from this hotel so you are not scammed $500 too.

This place is great! The room i stayed in was clean and they dont allow pets so it smelled clean also. There is a restaurant on the property that is great for breakfast. They also have a fire pit which they supply the wood, wifi, and lots of movies you can borrow while there. This is my new favorite place to stay at the beach and recommend anybody to stay here :)

Didn't stay at the cabins but stopped at their little restaurant and it was very good. Don't look for anything clever or creative on the menu, just basic honest food. But the cook does a solid job preparing it, the omletts have a lot of cheese, the hash browns had one of the best golden crust I've ever seen. The only drawback was my ice tea. The coffee my parents had was great but the ice tea just could not hide that hard municipal tap water. The portions are normal, nothing skimpy or ridiculously huge and the prices are good value for what you get.

We have stayed here one other time and will go back. The room was small but cozy and very clean. The bed was comfortable and it is quiet. The owners have decorated the room in a kind of cowboy style that is unique and the room was in very nice condition. There is a nice restaurant in the parking lot and a nice breakfast can be had for reasonable price. We stayed to visit a relative in nearby nursing home. Rooms are expensive as it is a major tourist area. The Bunk House is a good value when compared with some of the other places. Easy to find right on US 101. The WiFi worked very well better than in most places.

Room Tip: You can save more money with some rooms that have shared bathrooms if you are willing to share. Ask...

We asked fora tent site but got a reasonably priced, charming, spacious room over the restaurant instead. Sink, microwave & fridge in room. Shared separate bathroom & separate shower room with 2other rooms. Understated simplicity used in Western decor. Books & games available. Super clean. Cabins & motel rooms also available at various prices. Owners very conscientious about upkeep. We would return.

We were eating with a dear Auntie, who lives in a nearby senior residence, at the The Bunkhouse Restaurant. I noticed that they also had cabins and rooms. Since it was early on a Saturday I checked to see if there was a room and there was. This on a prime summer weekend! While small it was very clean and imaginatively decorated. You do get the feeling of the old west. Proprietor was friendly, the Wifi was fast and there was a free movie each night on DVD. The restaurant next door is also worth your patronage and there are a range of rooms and prices. Definitely a good place to stay on the Oregon Coastline. We will be back for sure when we visit Auntie again. It is only a couple of miles from one of the nicest beaches on the Oregon Coast. Good value. The Bunk House was one of the two most memorable places that we stayed on our big 2012 tour. Your inner cowboy (or girl) will like it. I loved the place. We paid 71 dollars this being a prime weekend Saturday night.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms have shared bathrooms. If you are adventuresome this would be ok if you are old l...
