Meredith Lodging describes this as a cottage with a view of the ocean "that's right across the street". They fail to disclose that about 98% of the view is completely blocked by a hotel. They also describe this rental as being half a block from public access to the beach. They were correct by saying half a block but they failed to mention that you had to traverse a staircase with 131 steps. That's a little tough with the kids, beach chairs, sand toys, etc etc.
Moving to the home itself. It is very near to needing a complete gut or condemnation. There is heavy water damage from one of the skylights in the living room. The damage has caused the paint to peel and sag off and the drywall to swell. The floors have several soft spots where you wonder if at some point in the near future someone will fall through. The carpet is filthy beyond cleaning - cigarette burns, etc. The sofa sleeper frame is broken and bent down at the head and unusable for sleeping.
There is certainly more but I think you get the point. The home could be cute with a complete overhaul. Meredith Lodging choose to pile in countless distractions into the house in the form of decorations in lieu of repairs.
I'd like a partial refund from Meredith but that's probably unlikely.
