Will stay here again. The room was nice sized, clean, full of amenities, and the view was outstanding. Even the decor in the hallways was nice. The pool was a comfortable temperature with a view of the ocean. The staff was extremely friendly. We were there during my daughters birthday and they wished her happy birthday and gave her warm cookies before setting them out for others. It made her feel special. We had made reservations for two nights and ended up staying an extra night.

The fireplace at night was nice but was on a timer so I had to keep getting up and cranking the clock. We really expected to love this place but were disappointed. Probably the least appealing ocean view place we ever stayed at. We were going to stay 2 nights but after arriving we changed to 1 night. The front desk was nice and didn't charge any cancellation.

Overall the town of Newport wasn't really our style.

Pros - good TV lineup, ocean view, fireplace
Cons - no direct access to beach, parking on lot side facing ocean left front of hood covered in bird droppings, hotel rundown a little and run by high school kids who seemed well intentioned, breakfast area was tiny and wasn't very good

We wanted a room on the beach with a view and we got exactly that! Check-in was hampered only by a power outage in the area, but the staff quickly and efficiently handled it by providing assistance getting to our rooms and providing flashlights if needed, which it wasn't since it was daylight and the outage was corrected before nightfall.

The room was huge, with a fireplace and a private patio. It was clean and equipped with a microwave and mini-fridge. The breakfast was the usual hotel food, waffles, eggs, fruit, etc. There are fresh baked cookies every evening. Each room looks out on the ocean. Access to the beach was a short half block walk and 90 steps down, but a long 90 steps back up.

We would definitely stay here if we were in the area again.

This is our go-to place in Newport (when we don't stay long enough to rent a place for a week---it is pricey). The rooms are a good size, the bathroom is filled with thick towels, you get bathrobes, a gas fireplace, a sliding glass door to the balcony facing the ocean. I do prefer the top floor, however: the 1st and 2nd floor views are marred by the roof of the parking garage. BUT, the elevator sucks--it's small, and slow, and there is only one, so be prepared to climb stairs to your room. Also, the electricity seems to go out every time we stay there (though usually only for an hour or so): that's more a Nye Beach problem than an Elizabeth St. Inn problem, however. The room rate includes a hot breakfast (served on the 3rd floor), and cookies at 8pm each evening.

Room Tip: Top floors have the best view, but a longer climb if you're too impatient to wait for the very s...

Stayed here a few months ago for hubby's birthday and I feel bad that I hadn't written a review. It was an absolutely perfect stay. The rooms are well laid out and complimentary breakfast was much better than the usual fare. The room had a fireplace, balcony overlooking the ocean and great big comfy robes for me to lounge around in. The staff was amazing, very attentive and the evening salmon chowder was fun and yummy.
Another great feature.. the hotel is within walking distance of great downtown area with cute shops and my new favorite bar.. Nana's.
Husband and i are planning another trip for the winter to experience the storm watching.

Room Tip: all the rooms have great view, I liked being on the same floor as the breakfast room (i think it was...

We went to the Elizabeth Street Inn last weekend as our last getaway before our baby is born. We got the king room with jacuzzi tub, and let me tell you, its worth the extra money! After being in a car for 2 hours, I went straight to the bed and oh my goodness...heaven! The pillows were SO nice, I wanted to take one home! You are so close to the ocean that the sound of the waves is perfect. I was great sitting on the couch with the fireplace on and listening to the ocean... especially from the jacuzzi tub! For this VERY pregnant lady, this place was great and very relaxing, not to mention friendly and accommodating staff who brought me 2 more pillows to make me more comfortable :). There are many other amenities we didn't take advantage of, such as the pool/hot tub, the in room dvd player and movie collection in the lobby, but maybe next time. Oh, and the fresh cookies in the lobby at 8pm is a nice treat :)
