We stayed here two nights in June and while this is not a bad hotel, we did have some problems. It is especially disappointing because this could be a great hotel. All of the rooms have an ocean view, with a balcony, that does not disappoint with its commanding views of the Pacific. Also, all of the rooms have many extras. The king bed rooms include a fireplace and couch in the living room area and a microwave and a refrigerator. There is a separate sink area outside the bathroom.

Parking is below the hotel in a covered garage and we felt that the hot breakfast was good and had a lot of options. There is no air conditioning but we did not need it the two nights we stayed here. I don't think it usually gets very warm on the Oregon coast even in the middle of the summer. The first night we were there it was downright freezing (in Mid June). The second night was warmer but you still needed a jacket at night.

Our biggest complaint about the room was the toilet . The flush mechanism on the toilet sounded like a Mack Truck. This means if you went to the bathroom at night and flushed you would not only wake up whoever was in your room but in the room next door as well.

The other problem we had was our room location the first night. They placed us on the third floor, right across from the elevator, which was bad enough but the breakfast room is also located on the third floor, next to the elevator. Why anyone would design a hotel with the breakfast area right across from the rooms is beyond me. Sure enough, as soon as breakfast was served (6 A.M.), it was impossible to sleep with breakfast going on right outside our door. After we complained, the hotel did move us down the hallway. Therefore, if staying here, avoid rooms 314-326 at all costs.

I read some bad reviews regarding this hotel prior to taking our trip. They were definitely wrong! The hotel is beautiful and has the best staff. The rooms face the ocean and have a patio with furniture for relaxing. The room itself is clean and rather large with a fireplace for the cool evenings. Homemade cookies every evening and they never ran out of coffee. Also, they have a large variety of food for breakfast. The pool, hot tub and gym were very clean. I reserved our room on Hotels.com and the rate was very reasonable. Thank You Elizabeth Street Inn staff for making our mini vacation so wonderful.

My wife and I went here for a quick 2 night get away. I did some research and thought we'd give the Elizabeth Street Inn a try and we sure don't regret it.

The location is spectacular. The service and room were outstanding and the entire Hotel was spotless. We will definately be back alone and with our two daughters.

The little touches like the warm cookies and the free breakfast were just icing on the cake but they certainly added to an already great experience.

Of course you can always nitpick and say that the lobby is small and the elevator is slow and the parking was a little cramped (especially for my Ex Cab Long Bed truck) but these minor things are lost in the overall charm and hospitality we met with at this hotel... Thanks to everybody on the staff that made out getaway so memorable.

Our two day stay was enjoyable. The staff are excellent & approachable. They were quick to answer any questions & assist. The front desk & housekeeping staff were very helpful when I thought I had lost a parcel in our room that I had misplaced & their assistance & concern was much appreciated. The staff there are exceptionally nice & very friendly.
It was nice to have some internet access in the lobby. The room was well laid out, comfortable, bed excellent & very clean. Amazing view of the ocean. The pool was lovely with a view of the ocean & the hot tub very hot. The breakfast was good. Having afternoon chowder & evening warm cookies a very nice touch. The only suggestion to the hotel I would make is to put some kind of spring on the heavy room door to stop them from slamming shut as with everyone coming & going around checkout time you hear alot of doors slamming from 10-11 am. The elevator is very slow but these were minor inconveniences to an overall great experience. This was the best place we stayed on the Oregon coast & plan to return.

Just returned from two nights at the Elizabeth with my wife for the Newport Marathon. Overall I was please. The hotel has a great view, plenty of parking and the room is quite spacious.

The bed was fairly comfortable, no noise issues for us, good shower pressure, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is a little on the skimpy side, no bread for toast, no muffins or pastries or the like, but they have the rest of the usual stuff.

The TV's aren't the best, but the rooms do include a DVD player which is nice. Our room was pretty stuffy (the fireplace has a pilot light and there is no AC). But leaving the balcony door open solved that.

The pool is fine, as is the jacuzzi, workout area is sparse, but better than nothing (one elliptical, one bike, one treadmill (non functioning).

Overall I'd say it's not a bad choice. It probably won't wow you, but if you get a good rate, I doubt you'll be disappointed either. The view is certainly the best thing going for the hotel.

Based on other reviews here, my husband and I chose the Elizabeth Street Inn for a 2-night visit to Newport in mid-April. We loved the fact that all the rooms have both an ocean-side terrace AND a fireplace. Despite the typical Oregon coast weather, we were cozy in our room with a fantastic view up and down the gorgeous Nye Beach.

Parking is convenient and covered--a good thing for keeping off some of the inevitable sea mist. Check-in was efficient, although getting to the room included quite a long wait for the single small elevator. We stayed in a King room, which had both a microwave and a refrigerator. It was nice to be able to pick up some nibbles for lunches and not have to eat out as often.

Our room was just across the hall from the elevator and breakfast room, but we did not experience noise from either source. But speaking of breakfast, this one was excellent, with a number of hot and cold choices and REALLY good coffee (no need to run out for good stuff elsewhere).

Even though the hotel sits on a rather high bluff, getting to the beach was easy. Just a few steps down the street is an easy-access ramp that winds down to the sand.

While we have not stayed at any of the other hotels in Newport, we will certainly pick the Elizabeth Street Inn the next time we return. We see no reason to look around when we were so completely satisfied with our stay here.

They have a fabulous view of the ocean and has several close beach access areas from the hotel. We were very surprised how quiet the rooms were, especially with a sold out weekend. The prices are a little high, but if you are looking for a total package from your trip, this is definitely a place to stay.
