Finding reasonably priced rooms in July on the Oregon coast at nearly the last minute is a challenge. Well, at least finding reasonably priced rooms that are clean and comfortable. That's how we ended up at Travelodge, Newport.
First off, the rooms were clean. Not perfect but better than many far more expensive places we've stayed. When we first signed in one of the rooms we were given was designated nonsmoking but had obviously been smoked in. (Rant here: Smokers: Why be so selfish and arrogant? Hotel owners: Fine them big time every time!) We were given a different room quickly and with only a mild complaint. The guy at the desk said that he'd been in the room and that it didn't smell smoky. Well, it did. We rented three rooms and that was the only smoky one.
As others have said, the rooms are not well ventilated and can be warm. A fan is supplied. In the summer the south side doesn't get much sun but there's noise from the restaurant next door. I prefer that to baking in my room I guess. There's quite a lot of road noise as the place is right on highway 101.
Finally, you will walk a fairly long way to get to a good restaurant. It's not far to a Fred Meyer for shopping however. If you eat fast food there's a McDonalds across the street.

Room Tip: In summer get one at the far end of the hotel away from the highway. In winter either side would be...

This is a Travelodge, I didn't expect much, but the bed was good with lots of pillows, the shower was for short people (under 5'6") but had good presure, the room was small but had microwave, mini fridge, iron, hair dryer, box fan, coffee pot.

I strongly suggest you get a room on the north side if you want to open the window (the exhaust fan for the restaurant next door was LOUD, That restaurant does not serve breakfast,

But the food in the hotel was ok.

The rooms are small, if you are not planning to stay more than one or two nights it is not an issue.

Room Tip: North facing room towards the back.

We stayed for two nights. It wasn't much more than a place to sleep, and it was barely adequate for that. The second floor, south room that we had got quite warm. With the window cracked there was quite a bit of road noise from the highway.

The establishment offers free WiFi but the signal only reached about half of the rooms. If yours is toward the back half, like ours, you will not have reliable signal.

The free breakfast is a very basic continental type: instant oatmeal, cold cereal, toast, bagels, muffins, donuts, fresh fruit, coffee and juice.

There is very little noise isolation. The unit we had only had a shower. There are adequate AC outlets, though you will want a power strip if you have many devices. The unit appeared clean, but there was a noticeable musty odor.

Overall it was probably in the range of what we paid. It fell slightly short of expectations.
