La Quinta has been one of our favorite chain hotels to stay at ever since we were long-haul truck drivers as they are all pet-friendly. We chose this one in Newport, Oregon for a one night stay toward the end of an 8-day vacation to the coast. We also chose it because we were planning to visit the Oregon Coast Aquarium and it is close by. The staff was very cheerful and helpful during check-in. We were given a map with several recommendations for dinner. Our room was spacious and the big king-sized bed was very comfortable. I needed to use the laundry facility. I couldn't figure out why one washer was $1.25 and the other was $1.50. The dryers were in sad shape. If you didn't close the doors just right they popped open. But, I got our laundry done.
We didn't have any of our pets with us on this trip, but strongly recommend La Quinta for pet lovers. They had the 1st and 3rd floors designated for pets. We chose the 3rd floor since there was an elevator. We never heard a peep out of any of the dogs.
Our only complaint is the poor Wi-Fi service. When it worked it was slow. And it didn't work for very long. The hotel looked more worn on the inside, but all in all it was a good stay.More
