Quaint and very good food, old pictures and a review from NYT on the walls. Even a walk through the kitchen to the bathroom is interesting. Large portions and good food. A local told us to buy the molasses bread, and we noticed that lots of people bought one of the 2 lb loafs to take home, so we did too, but have not yet tried it.

The family favorite was the tuna burger, but halibut burger was a close second. They come with whole pieces of fish, not ground up. The homemade buns and bread were excellent as were the homemade pies. The kids insisted on returning the next day.

In spite of the traffic, we ventured out to the Otis Cafe. It did not disappoint. Luckily we hit it at a time that didn't require waiting in line. It's a very small restaurant with some covered outdoor seating at picnic tables.

The menu is typical diner fare, bacon, eggs, hash browns with some delicious twists and additions. Exceptional homemade bread (try the molasses and the cinnamon...sourdough, too.) and pies. We have never, over the years, had a disappointing experience. Service is quick, cheerful and friendly. Food is top notch!

It's worth the drive just to eat the molasses bread! It's additive.
In addition to breads and pies, they also sell a wonderful seasoning mix. I think they have t-shirts, etc.

Many reviews mention the bread and breakfast items at the Otis Café. Rightfully so since both are outstanding. We stopped in for dinner during a stay in Lincoln City which is a short drive away. Yes, seating is limited (probably about 20 max). The service was very good. We did not have to wait however we did call ahead to see how crowded they were. I would advise this. The food was better than expected considering most people go for breakfast. Aside from an everyday dinner menu featuring Chicken, Liver and Onions, Pork Chops, Hamburger Steak and a couple of other items they offer several daily specials. When we were there it was Lasagna, Yankee Pot Roast, Albacore Tuna Steaks and one other item. All priced around $15.00. We ordered the Pot Roast and the Tuna Steaks and shared. We chose salads instead of soup either of which comes with the dinners. The salads were crisp and were accompanied with homemade dressing. We were given our choice of breads which also came with the dinners and chose 2 different kinds and were offered more during the meal. Some of the best bread ever. The Pot Roast was tender and tasty and was served with carrots that were not out of a can and cooked just right and a choice of a starch. 2 Tuna Steaks were tender with no fishy taste and the side of rice was cooked correctly. Both dinners also came with broccoli also not over cooked and very flavorful. We had enough left over from both dinners for a complete dinner for both of us the next night and we are fairly hearty eaters. Large portions and a great value.

Otis' Cafe is about 15 minutes north of Lincoln City and a mile or two east of 101.

Very small place, maybe 4 booths, two tables and counter service for 4 or 5. There are some picnic tables outside but not sure if they are available for use during breakfast.

Great hearty breakfasts to be had here. The German Potatoes (melted cheese, onions over hash browns) are excellent. My daughter had the kids buttermilk pancake and loved it. The breakfasts all come with homemade bread and the molasses bread was yummy. Kitchen service was fast!

I now wish I had pie after reading all these reviews but we were on our way to Tilamook! Homemade pies and breads are available to take home.
