My second time to stay here. This past visit we were able to witness
a winter storm with high winds and waves right from our room. The
weather didn't keep us from walking the quiet beach, eating at the Pelican Pub and Brewery (wonderful Reuben sandwich and pasta),
and bakery items from the Stimulus Cafe next door. It was a relaxing
two days with the fireplace, ocean view and dvd movies.
All the clerks, room attendants and maintenance man were very helpful
and always polite and smiling. Rooms, beds and amenities great.

Room Tip: Any on the 2nd or 3rd floor. All have ocean view and elevator.

Two years ago, I experienced Cape Kiwanda for the first time. A 2- hour drive from Portland through the Tillamook National Forest, my destination was the Pelican Pub & Brewery. Now, I had the opportunity to travel back to Tillamook and decided to stay in charming Pelican City at the Inn instead of a chain motel our hotel in the town. What a superb decision!

From start to finish, my entire experience was wonderful. The drive is beautiful and diverse along the way - cow patches, little towns, cliffs overlooking the Pacific, moss-covered forest, waterfalls...and the view from the Inn is a stunning one. Every room has a view of the ocean and the mighty Haystack Rock.

My arrival was seamless and the staff were friendly. I got a good deal online on the Inn's website for $119 and I think it was worth every penny. The Inn has movies to borrow, a spa, free coffee, and a cozy common area with fireplace. The room was also incredibly relaxing. Mine had a king size bed, kitchenette, private balcony with chairs, a living room with fireplace, and a large bathroom. I was greeted by a sound machine imitating seagulls and waves. I turned it off abd opened the doors to the balcony and enjoyed the real thing by fire light.

While the town is small, there are a few places to eat and a great coffee shop attached to the Inn, which they provided a coupon for. And of course, you only have to walk across the street for a splash in the water or an award winning brew at the Pelican.

What a great place!

A magical setting on the Oregon Coast, all rooms with top views of Haystack rock, and private balconies. Plus the rooms have fireplaces to lull you asleep at night. We've been here several times over the past decade and always love the experience. Great beds, plenty of warm blankets for a cold winter's night. Better yet, there is a pub/restaurant just across the street, and an espresso outlet on premises. We'll be back!

Room Tip: We checked out their time share condo rooms, which are even closer situated on the shore. Managemen...

We enjoyed a great room here, clean, very nice, affordable. The management did reduce their price for us. The room had a fireplace and a wonderful view of the ocean. We borrowed a DVD to watch that evening, nice feature.

We originally booked two nights at this little inn. The room and view (past the road) was great. We loved the fireplace and the spacious room. We borrowed one of the DVD's to watch on our rainy night on the coast. My husband celebrated his birthday here and they were kind to give us a bottle of sparkling wine.
We left after one night as the town of Pacific City in January was so remote and closed up. The Pelican Pub across the road is pretty much the only act in town in the Winter. We were astounded at their high prices and lack of a happy hour.
If you are going strictly for a relaxing place with a great view, than I would recommend this inn.

Dear AZGlass,
Thank you for your comments! We are glad you were able to relax during your vacation and celebrate a birthday! Pacific City really opens up around President’s Weekend; most businesses are back to regular hours during that time. We hope to see you on the next birthday!

Really enjoyed our stay here. The employees are all so friendly and helpful. Always smiling too. The room we had on the 3rd floor had a great view of the ocean and Haystack Rock. Rooms were really clean and cheery. Big screen TV and gas fireplace. Deck had 2 chairs. Nice leather couch. Table and chairs. There was a small sink in the area with the microwave and refrigerator. Row of nice coat hooks when you enter the room. Bathroom only had one sink but the counter was the whole length of the room. Great shower head with shower curtain on curved rod. The only thing I didn't like was the parking lot. The spaces were so narrow. I have a nice car and didn't want to get it all dinged up so it was a challenge finding a space to park. The Inn sets right on a through street however the traffic never bothered us. We were there on 2 week days in January. We will definitely come back again.

Room Tip: Higher floors have best view.

Dear DaBride,
We are so happy to hear you will be coming back to visit us! I’m glad you got to enjoy our little beach town and all the amenities The Inn at Cape Kiwanda has to offer. Sometimes the covered parking is a little narrow and very ideal for compact cars; however there are larger spaces on the east side of the lot, still not too far from entryway. I hope that helps you next time you are in town. If you need anything at all please don’t hesitate to reach out to me! We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Thank you,
