“Interesting surroundings, good food”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

We visited Hamley's for lunch on a group excursion from our riverboat cruise. The old-time atmosphere of the dining area and the bar are quite interesting, and the food was very good considering that it was a group function. Our choices were limited, but everyone at our table was very pleased with both the quality and the quantity of the lunch. This may be the first place I ever saw warning signs above the entrances to the restrooms about mature art being displayed inside. It was fairly tame, but probably a good warning for any parents with small children. We also wandered over to the adjacent saddle shop, which has a beautiful array of hand-worked saddles as well as lots of other Western memorabilia and souvenirs. It was a very nice stop in Pendleton.

“Great atmosphere”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

We had dinner at the Steakhouse, but there is also a saloon, a cafe, and a western goods store. The Steakhouse is a newer part of the building, but decorated in an old west style - I was surprised at how casually-dressed the hostess and waitresses were - they wore t-shirts - it just didn't seem to fit the decor and theme of the restaurant very well - the rib eye steak costs $50 or so and the waitresses wear t-shirts?
They have a varied menu with vegetarian, chicken, pork loin, several entree salads, salmon, prawns, burgers, and sandwiches. It was a hot day, so most of the folks in our party ordered the entree salads with prawns or salmon or chicken. I had the salmon with the dill butter sauce and it was very good. It came with fresh green beans and roasted potatoes. The potatoes were OK, but the green beans were a good-sized serving and cooked just right. We were too full to even consider dessert. I'll definitely return for the atmosphere, decor and food.

“Not what I expected”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

Steaks on the menu seemed over priced. The rest of the menu was priced well. Service was a bit slow but friendly.

“Even if you just stop for a drink - it's a must in Pendleton!”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

This is probably the coolest bar I have ever been in. It is absolutly gorgeous and has so much history. It is a must on your to-do list when in Pendleton. We didn't eat, but had drinks at the bar. The staff are very friendly and happy to share the history of things in the place.

“A great steak house but one that cowboys can't afford”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

Hamley Steakhouse and Saloon is the most posh steakhouse I’ve ever been in. It is beautiful in a western way and expansive inside. The interior is a little too dark for my taste but it is nice and cool when you come in from outside. I went in for a steak and a beer and settled for a prime rib hot beef sandwich, a veg. and a salad.
