Our room was clean and well decorated, a little rustic indeed but not uncomfortable at all. The kind of feel that fits the character of Pendleton well. The owner was attentive to our needs. The price was very good. And as advertised it was nothing like staying with a hotel chain, much nicer. The only reason I don't give it a rating of 5 instead of 4 is for some little things. The breakfast was fruit and packaged food. The sink didn't have a stopper in it (I wear the type of contact lenses which require me to stopper the sink). We will plan to stay again next time we are near Pendleton.

Can here on an over night visit, we were going to bring our 5th wheel and stay at KOA, but having to park, unhook set up and then leave early the next day to return home.... well, we chose Rugged Country Lodge for its proximity to our business downtown . We brought our 2 dogs and this IS a pet friendly Motel, the owner is Very friendly and does his best to accommodate his guest. The rooms are Very clean , and updated and more importantly Comfortable. We would stay here again in a heartbeat !
They also have a breakfast room from 6am-9:30am self serve continental style breakfast and plenty of Hot coffee. You will not be disappointed by staying here.

Our diesel pickup broke down on the way from Spokane to our home in Nevada. This place was close to the repair shop and recommended by the owner there, so we showed up without a reservation. The owners are very affable. As a walk-in, we were charged quite a bit more than the going rate for the room. The place is very clean, the beds comfy. Lots of highway and train noise. Were able to drop our trailer in lot while pickup was repaired. Area seems fairly safe. Walked to cute little burger stand with great burgers and shakes about a block away. Walked to Woolen Mill shop abt three blocks away. Summary-clean 50s motel with friendly owners, comfy beds, not the "bed and breakfast" because the breakfast is your basic Super8 fare minus the waffles. Good at 50-60 bucks, not great at the 75 dollars plus tax we paid.

You cannot beat this place for the price. Very clean and the beds are great! My husband and I both have back problems and we slept well. We didn’t eat the breakfast but the eating area looked nicer. We will be staying here again.

My husband and I stayed for two nights at the Rugged Country Lodge, and enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean, charming, and rustic. We slept comfortably in the bed we were given, and unlike other motels we have stayed at in the area recently - this one smelled fresh and clean. The Rooster Room supplied us with breakfast fixings and coffee in the mornings, which was nice to have available to us. I would definitely choose to stay here again. The only downfall was that the second night someone was pacing back and forth for hours in the room above us - we heard the thump of footsteps and the creak of the floorboards for some time. The pacing resumed in the early hours of the morning - ugh! This was no fault of the owners, however, but just an annoyance during our stay. I would still highly recommend this place to stay, especially for those who appreciate the quaint rustic, homey feel.
