Park Lane Suites & Inn
Ranked #51 of 144 Hotels in Portland
Reviewed 20 June 2014

My husband and I stay at Park Lane Suites at least four times for year, we just returned home today from a two night stay. Here are my thoughts on the property...
First of all, it's not a luxury hotel. If you are in the market for a plush, urban hotel stay this isn't what you want but it does have tons going for it.
We stay on the suite side. The decor and furniture are not to my liking, the couch looks like it came straight from your Grandma's house (unless you have a cool grandma). The rooms however are well maintained and always spotless.
The location is great, easy access to all the city has to offer and within walking distance to lots of great spots if you aren't opposed to hoofing it. Hoofing it is actually the best way to experience Portland anyway. Well, that or by bike. Plus there's free parking and free wifi.
We don't spend a lot of time in the room while in Portland so this place is perfect for us. It's clean, comfortable, and has value compared to the nicer hotels downtown. I'm all for staying in plush 5 star properties in some cities, but for me Portland is a town I'd rather focus on all the wonderful food and beer waiting for me outside my hotel door. The Park Lane is a perfect base for doing just that.

Stayed in this hotel one night, motivated by their lower prices and parking on site. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Booking the room was easy, and getting around was easy. Of note, the inn is located walking distance to the rose garden, wildwood trail and japanese garden as well as the restaurants at Nob Hill.

Stayed four nights in June. Suites are comfortable, clean & quiet. Kitchen facilities are perfect for staying a few days. Easy walking to many very good restaurants. Free parking but tight spaces. Great base for exploring Nob Hill and Downtown Pearl District, but a good place to retreat and relax without having to live in traffic noise and crowds.

Room Tip: Suites are in the building with the registration desk. Suites are larger than rooms, some of whic...

Stayed for 3nights in June at the Inn .The room had laminate flooring which squeaked as did the bed .Unfortunately we were on the ground floor and were woken up at 5-30 by the people upstairs walking around on the laminate floor .There were a noisy couple of dogs nearby but thankfully they were housed in the evening .The room , shower etc was good and free coffee was available in the main reception over the road.

Room Tip: If staying at the inn ask for its floor room

We stayed for 3 nights in a suite in May. I was there for the Portland Rock'N Roll 1/2 Marathon event. It was a great location although we spent most of our time downtown.
It was a like a small 1 bedroom apartment. Its a little older but well maintained. It may have been converted from very old apts.
We didn't use the kitchen to the full potential but its nice to have had the option. We used the microwave to reheat leftovers and having the cutlery handy was great. It was just the two of us but I think it would accommodate 4 people. 2 could stay in the livingroom. There is a tv in both the livingroom and bedroom.. Which was great one night when I had insomnia...
The staff were friendly. There's coffee/tee/hot chocolate/juice/cookies in the lobby. Nice touch.
The free wifi was nice to have.
The location is good for walking to 21st or 23 streets... and for walking to the downtown.
We had our bikes with us too. Although Portland says they are bike friendly... not all streets are. Pick up a free bicycling map at a bicycle store. It came in handy for us to plan routes.
Warning: The parking is very tight! Becareful... it is angled so easier for parking. Also try not to park next to the tree in the parking lot, our car was covered in leaves when we left and had to go to a carwash - LOL.
We enjoyed our stay here and would book again the next time we go to Portland.

We chose this place because it was very close to the neighbourhood we wanted to explore. We had though that it was an inn like charming place and that may have been true for some of the rooms in the main building but our room, in a motel like setting across the street from the main building had 2 beds no table no desk no chair but was clean

Loved our 4-day stay here. We had a one bedroom apt and it was great. It's on a beautiful tree lined street near Washington Park. The king bed was very comfortable; the bathroom was large and the living room was good sized. The staff was friendly and helpful. I have told family and friends about this great place.
