This is a heads up for those who like to search out historical markers, monuments and so forth as much as I do. This statue actually is in the park. It's just not easy to find. Just keep climbing those steps.

It's huge but well marked, so is easy to get around. It's full of large old trees and many other landscaping plants such as rhododendrons, roses, lilacs, dogwood, etc., etc. It's walker and biker friendly.

Wow, the trees were in their colors, it was so beautiful. We really liked seeing the Holocaust Memorial. It is very touching and really makes an impression on you. We especially liked the bronze items on the sidewalk leading to the wall... really touches your heart.

Nice enclave in the city to get away from the stress of Portland. Nice ambiance, flowers, sunny days.

Washington Park provides numerous trail to hike and many interesting places to stop and visit on while hiking. There are many memorials to see along the way and also the rose gardens and the Japanese Gardens as well. A great place to get away from the city and enjoy the outdoors.
