“Worth the drive”
Reviewed 22 October 2013

We live on the west side of the city and this restaurant is on the northeast side. But it was so good we will drive back over to go again. From the Burrata Brushetta to the popcorn panna cotta and everything in between, the food and cocktails were wonderful. Sometimes when you hear about a great place it doesn't live up to the hype ( two highly publicized come to mind) but this was really top notch. We had a variety of food, elk, chicken and the ricotta cavatelli and all of it was delicious! We thought it was a little more upscale than it was, most people were in jeans, even the wait staff, but that could partly be Portland. They have a happy hour we can't wait to try. I really suggest you give this restaurant a try, you won't be disappointed.

“Strange Ingredients”
Reviewed 13 October 2013

I thought we were into food but this chef and his menu are over the top on exotic ingredients and flavors. One of the few unfortunate aspects is they have no idea of how to make an extra dry martini with olives and the pour was poor in quantity. Our group of four tired the beef tartare (good), the beets with blackberry glaze (outstanding), the cheese fritters (very good), nasturtium salad (great), roasted half chicken (not completely cooked, fair), the rabbit (very good) and the clams, mussels and rockfish (very good). The décor is stark and harsh making for considerable noise. The restaurant is a $15.00 cab ride from downtown hotels. Will we be back? Probably not due to location, pricing for what you get and lack of fresh grilled fish. But for a one off experience it was very good on balance.

“Great food, service and experiences”
Reviewed 26 August 2013

Decided to try Lincoln after seeing Jenn on Bizarre Foods. Went for our anniversary dinner and couldn't have been more pleased. Ordered exclusively from the happy hour menu. Tried the pigs ear, Lamb Tartar and rabbit meatballs. All delicious. My husband had coffee and I had the bartenders special cocktail. Excellent. At the end of the meal they brought out a homemade ice cream sundae for our anniversary, free of charge of course. Great prices too. We will definitely be back.

“Worth going, but probably wouldn't go back”
Reviewed 23 August 2013

Synopsis: Food excellent, service too slow and could be more attentive.
My husband and I decided to give Lincoln a try, after seeing on Jenn Louis on Master Chef. We arrived at 5:45 on a Thursday night. We had reservations, but they were not needed at that time. There were 4 or 5 other couples at the bar for happy hour. We were happily seated next to the open roll up door where we had a nice view of the street and fresh air which made for a nice atmosphere for our meal. We ordered one mixed drink and an IPA beer. Our server did a great job to recommend specials of the day and then disappeared. She reappeared at a later time and took our orders for the Lamb Tartar and Bone Marrow apps as well as Rabbit Leg and Beet/Rabbit salad entrees. Aside from our drinks, the rest of the meal took awhile to arrive. It was just over 20 minutes before our appetizers arrived; but I must say they were AMAZING! Both the tartar and bone marrow were superb! Another 40 minutes passed between the apps and the main courses, with no server "check in". My husbands beer ran dry and there was no one around to get another one from, so it left us lacking anything to entertain his mouth while we waited for dinner. Main courses arrived and the Rabbit legs were plentiful and delicious. The beet and rabbit salad was well dressed and had great flavor, but I had to hunt the pieces of rabbit, which were cut into quite small cubes.
Overall, the food was great and we enjoyed the meal, but the service let it down. :( I'm glad we went, but I will probably choose a little more attentive restaurant for my next adventure.

“Great find in Portland”
Reviewed 22 August 2013

I attended a business dinner at Lincoln and was very impressed. The food was very tasty, the menu was broad even though it is not that large. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the wine list and was very attentive. I'm surprised by some reviewers who complain about the prices, given that it is a beautiful simple interior with very high quality ingredients and preparations. We were in fact surprised how reasonable the bill was.
