My wife and I just spent 4 nights at the Hotel Rose. It is in a great location for walking, riding and it is 2 blocks from freeway access. ( very little traffic noise)
The room was nice ( sheets could be updated) and the staff was great. Free bikes were a great perk and Portland is a very safe and easy place to ride in. My wife had not been on a bike for years and she had know problem riding the cruiser bikes that were provided.
From this location we were able to walk up to the rose gardens in Washington Park and basically cover all of downtown easily. With the bikes we were able to cross the river and check out Hawthorne Street and some of the other neat neighborhoods. With the car we had easy access to the different highways so we could visit some of the areas that were a limitless further away.
I will stay here again the next time I am in Portland.
