Working for an american company ,means occasional travel to HQ. Based in Portland. This Hotel is situated on the doorstep of the industrial sector. However 10 minute walk takes you into the quiet suburbs. Restaurants are scattered in abundance in a lovely part of the city. The hotel is clean ,well furnished ,well managed and provides a reasonable standard of breakfast. No restaurant facility is available , but within a 10 minute stroll every form of eatery is available . Would I stay again ???.......................Oh yes .

We live in the suburbs of Portland, and we were meeting out of town friends for dinner. It had been a long time since we had all been together, and we knew we would be enjoying ourselves too much to drive home, so we booked a room at the Silver Cloud Inn, which was just a few blocks from the restaurant. This hotel has every amenity you can ask for with a great continental breakfast, free parking, and even a night light which I greatly appreciated. The bathroom fan is my only complaint. It comes on automatically when you turn on the light and it is pretty noisy. Otherwise, it was perfect! I highly recommend this hotel. It is within walking distance of one of Portland's most charming neighborhoods with great restaurants and good shopping.

This is probably one of the best mid-range/3-star hotels I've ever stayed in. The hotel and the room are very clean, There's very little sign on mildew in the bathroom.
The location is great, close to some great eateries in the area, very near a highway, mass transit, and local attractions.
Free breakfast is a standard fair for this hotel type -- pastries, breads, scrambled eggs with sausage, DIY Belgian waffles, yogurt, cereal. Excellent coffee and many tea varieties are available 24 hours, as well as apples, oranges and bananas.
The gym is very small but has good variety, and was quite sufficient for my needs.
The mattress was comfortable, and the pillows were the best I'd ever seen in a hotel.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the basic toiletries (toothbrush, razors, etc) are available for free at the front desk. With the free parking, this hotel offers a great value for this area.
My only complaint would be with the chair in the room. It was not very comfortable to use when working at the desk.

Room Tip: ask for a odd-numbered room - they face away from the main street that can be a little noisy

We chose this hotel after being disappointed by the high prices in the Pearl district. We were very happy with our choice. The staff were very nice and helpful, the neighborhood is quaint with plenty of cafes and things to walk to and most of the attractions are easily accessible via the light rail. We took the light rail several times and never felt inconvenienced. The hotel also has free parking and is close to the highway. The breakfast was good. This seems to be a somewhat local chain, which I liked too. (OR and WA.)

The room was very spacious.

This hotel is just two blocks away from 23rd Street - "Alphabet district" as I learned on my trip Tons of restaurants and cafes within walking distance Also close by is Forest Park. The hotel has the basic free breakfast with make your own waffles. Room is clean and reasonably big. The parking is free which was a plus. The streetcar that takes you downtown is just a few blocks away as well. I would highly recommend this spot. Easy to access by car from airport
