This is my second time returning to this hotel. It's a beautiful hotel, here's what I love about this property:
1. Great location. Right next to Pioneer Place and lots of other shops and restaurants.
2. Beautiful room. I got a superior Queen Queen and it was spacious. Nice decor, clean and well-kept, comfortable beds.
3. Front desk staff generally friendly and helpful.
4. Green hotel, eco-friendly.
5. Great bathroom amenities. Bee-kind products, hotel was cautious in choosing their "green" products, and this line is definitely one of the best "green" bathroom amenities I have ever used. From packaging to the products itself is great! I wish they are available in Canada.
6. Great porter staff. They are always very friendly and welcoming.
Here are the negative things about the hotel:
1. Poor service/waitering staffs at Urban Farmer: We went for breakfast at Urban Farmer one morning during our stay. We've dined at the restaurant before during the New Year's Eve, the staff and the food was excellent. However this time when we returned, we were greatly disappointed. Our server was underwhelmed, didn't seem friendly and welcoming. When taking orders, she didn't even bother to ask us "what would you like to have?", instead, just stood there and stared at us, and waited for us to say something. It was awkward. Other waitering staffs in the restaurant look like as if they have just woke up. Appearance-wise and standard of...This is my second time returning to this hotel. Other waitering staffs in the restaurant look like as if they have just woke up. Appearance-wise and standard of service were unprofessional.
Another incident that reflected the poor standard of the staffs at Urban farmer: One morning while we were playing pool in the library, one of the staffs from urban farmer came in, and said, "Just so you know, this room is booked for a private party, and we need to set up soon." There was no sign, no notice on the door saying that the room is booked, how were we supposed to know? The tone and how the staff delivered the message was unfriendly and unprofessional. Who would start a sentence saying "Just so you know..." to their guests? In general, I just have a strong feeling that the staffs in Urban Farmer should undergo more training in order to provide the standards the Nines claims to be. Right now, it's lacking.
2. Noisy room. Our room is on the 14th floor, right next to the balcony and the associates entrance. At night, we kept hearing door slamming, unsure if it was the door of the balcony, or the entrance for the associates. Either way, it was annoying and noisy.
In all, we enjoyed...More
