“Perfection”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 September 2013

There is no way I could fault this dining experience. The view was stunning, the service was swift and attentive, the prices were reasonable and the food! My goodness the food. Everything we ordered was interesting and perfectly balanced. It was showy but not overly chefy and rich. The chef had worked hard to bring out all sorts of wonderful flavor combinations instead of the usual assault on the palate of cream/butter/salt that you get in many premium restaurants. The presentation was artful. The decor and mood in the dining room was very restrained and tasteful. The server recommended some good wines. Three of the items we ordered were particularly exquisite: the duck pate with apricots and a home-made biscuit (appetizer), the blackberry pork ribs (main) and the fancy s'more (dessert). I implore you to eat here!

“Yummy!”

We had great service, enjoyed the view of the water front and the food was delish! The price was average for Downtown Portland.

“Great bistro”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2013 via mobile

Decided to try after other reviews. We were not disappointed. Great view to the river. Excellent service, and really great value.

They run. Cellar wine hot list, and were able to get an 05 regusci for amazing price. We started with duck mousse pâté, large portion smooth flavor. Next split the beet carpaccio salad, outstanding! Last we split the duck breast, which was succulent, and perfectly seared. Highly recommend each dish . The chef treated us to small palate cleansers along the way. A definite in Portland

“Excellent food particularly the candy bar dessert! Service a bit slow.”

We've been to H5O four times for dinner. Each time the food has been excellent and the service slow! Great for a nice long meal!

“Polite Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2013

We arrived at the beginning of Happy Hour, always a great time. The bartender was nice and made us drinks not on the menu. She also suggested drinks that we might like based off of our orders.
