“If you love books then check it out!”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

Huge space filled with a huge selection of books including lots of great specialty subjects. Reasonable prices too. If you are with a non book lover there are plenty of knick knacks to browse as well. You cam even take books into the cafe to flip through if you need to decide between a few titles. A great place to escape the rain too!

“Couldn't Wait to Visit!”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

After reading reviews of Powell's, my husband and I could not wait to visit. We walked about 20 minutes from our downtown hotel and when we walked in, I was an eye opened doe! Several floors and a huge footprint to browse. Rooms are named after colors and there is a big info desk smack center when you walk in. Very organized and busy. Bookshelves floor to ceiling and large, wide aisles. Everything from A to Z and 1 to infinite... awesome place!!!

Huge bookstore. They have everything! Including rare books, which was cool to check out. I could spend all day in there.

“Can't recommend highly enough!”
Reviewed 25 April 2014

I can't help making multiple visits to Powell's every time I visit Portland. Not only is the selection vast, but I have always found the prices of second-hand books here extremely reasonable. Well worth a visit even if you have no intention of making a purchase. I particularly love the atmosphere of the store (much like that of Portland as a whole): Not at all pretentious or snooty as large bookstores elsewhere can be. Don't miss it.

“A reader's paradise!”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

Four Levels and room upon room of books, used and new! I was in heaven. I went with no real purpose and easily wpent a couple of hours lost in the books. It is all really well organized too, including a map so you can find exactly where you need to be.
Be sure to stop off at the on-site cafe for a drink and treat!
