This garden is wonderful any season. If you go off-season or when its colder there may not be so many people. Fall is spectacular. Be sure to walk up instead of taking the tram (if you enjoy walking and don't mind the climb).

Easy access by excellent public transportation. The garden is a first rate example of Japanese garden design.

I have spent so much time in the Japanese Gardens that I finally signed up to be a volunteer. I enjoy the transitions between seasons, and the beauty that changes with the weather. And on a clear day, there is no better view of Mt. Hood and the beautiful city of Portland!

Any time of the year the Japanese Garden is wonderful. But, in the Spring it will knock your socks off! Check it out, you will be glad you did.
