Owner description: A forested mountain peak lying just outside the city of Portland: great for hiking.

This is a very good park for just about everybody. There are good views of Portland, great hiking/running trails. There's areas for kids to place.

The downside, however, also exist. Parking is a problem, even during the middle of the week. Because of this, people park Illegally.

There are always a few folks that don't keep the dogs on a lease, even though there is a dedicated off-lease areas provided.

This park has great views of the city and is very forested with huge, beautiful trees. Lots of people having picnics, running, dog walking or just strolling and admiring the views and forest.

Lots to do on this city park (on a volcano). We've taken fall pictures here (tons of leaves) and they've been some of my favorites. Many areas to play, run and explore.

This has been a great place to hike with our kids. You can go on the trails or stick to the road that winds up to the top where there is a great little park with a fantastic view of Mt. St. Helens. The kids also like to peek in on the water reservoirs which, for some reason, are fascinating every time they see them. There are also some great grassy hills for the kids to roll down.

One warning...if you walk on the road be aware of the bikers that come careening down the mountain and breakneck speeds.

You're only about 4 miles from the center of Portland and you feel that you could be in the middle of a huge national forest. Great walks and even a large dog off-leash park. Spend time here to relax!
