“Forest in the City”
Reviewed 16 May 2014

Spent a couple of hours here the other day by myself, walking the trails. The trails were well marked and in great shape. I found a nice flush of oyster mushrooms on a fallen hardwood. For urban hiking, this is a winner. Day use only, with a lot of educational programs for school age children. I look forward to bringing my 6 yo here.

“Another world”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

Super lush, lots of trees and plants. There are spiders everywhere in webs. Like big ones. But, cool hiking and enough people around without being too crowded on the trailers. There is also a really cool suspension bridge.

“Such stunning, quiet beauty!”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

A forested park with much natural beauty. Look for mushrooms, hike the trails to the river, join a guided tour, wander peaceably amongst the ferns and imagine what life was like for the Indians who lived in the area, culling just about all they needed from this park--fishing line, wood to make weapons and bowls, medicine, etc. Read up before you go and it will be a grand adventure!

“the beauty of nature”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

The park is first rate. Volunteers are trying desperately to remove the ivy that has taken over so much of this part of Portland. The native plants are coming back. The part is a delight for walking and have a very nice nature center and excellent children's programs and also programs for the entire family.

“Fantastic park in the city”

This is a great state park that is clean and offers a lot of good hiking trails. The information center is informative, and there is a lot to do.
