My sister and I stayed 3 nights at this really different hotel. It's in a beautiful old residential neighbourhood but 10 minutes from downtown by tram (which stops right in front of the inn), and this is a lively neighbourhood with lots of interesting shops, good cafes with sidewalk seating and excellent food. The Inn itself is bright and funky, not a cookie-cutter decor by a long shot, and the beds were the most comfortable I've ever had - luxurious linens and lots of pillows.

The continental breakfast was just fine, you get free tickets every day for the tram, and there is a lovely rooftop garden. We stayed on the third floor - it was a bit noisy in the evening with the traffic but most people would probably have kept the balcony door shut and the air conditioning on and wouldn't notice. It certainly didn't stop us from sleeping very well indeed.

All the staff was friendly and helpful, from the room cleaning ladies to the desk - and we asked their advice often for restaurant ideas and things to do, always with good results.

Room Tip: Upper floor is quiet, on the back if traffic really really bothers you and you like to sleep with th...

My sister and I spent three nights at the Inn, May 30 to June 1, top floor room, facing the street. Room was spacious and bright, cheerful color scheme, very clean, and the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in, high quality bedding and lots of pillows. Staff were always patient and helpful with suggestions for exploring Portland, and very knowledgable about the easy to use transit system. Beautiful neighborhood location with oodles of small shops, restaurants and coffee close by. The street car does run in front of the hotel and can be rather noisy if you have the balcony door open, which we did at night, rather than using air conditioning. The rooftop garden is a great place to relax in privacy, with brightly colored planters and comfy seating. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, and would stay again any time!

Stayed here recently on a girls vacation in Portland. The hotel is in the perfect location - on the Northwest side of the city, a short distance from everything you want to see.

The inn itself was quite cute - done in vivid colors on the walls and furniture. All rooms are suites, so there was plenty of space to hang out. The beds were exceptionally comfortable.

The inn has so many advantages - the Northrup Station trolley stop is directy outside the door, ample parking, the breakfasts were 'continental' but very satisfying (waffles, bagels, yogurt, cereal, toast, hard boiled eggs, fruit). The staff were exceptionally helpful and spot-on with restuarant recommendations. Several of our favorite restaurants were within walking distance on 21st street.

This was an exceptional choice of hotels for Portland!

Room Tip: Rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors have small balconies.

Our first visit to Portland and it was phenomenal largely due to the accommodations at the Inn at Northrup Station. The hotel is reasonably priced for a downtown property; it's location could not be better - walking distance to shops, restaurants and the beautiful neighborhoods in the northwest part of town. The front desk staff was very accommodating and the morning breakfast that is included was plentiful. A great hotel in a fabulous city. We hope to return soon to the Inn at Northrup Station.

Thank you for your pleasant review! We are so glad you enjoyed your first trip to Portland...and that the Inn @ Northrup Station was part of the reason why! There's nothing better than waking up to a yummy breakfast....then spending the afternoon exploring all the shops and restaurants along NW 21st and 23rd streets!

Thank you again and we look forward to making your second trip to Portland just as memorable!

Three nights, gorgeous weather, great service, nice neighborhood (we actually preferred this part of town). I won't repeat all the other good comments. We enjoyed the ambiance of the rooftop garden--we had our own picnics and happy hours up there. A fun hotel in a trendy walkable neighborhood with lots of restaurants, stores, and markets. We ate out some, but we also ate in (rooftop). The kitchen was great to have. It appears they keep up with the times--they even have new bamboo (sustainable) ironing boards to keep the noise level down. The landscaping was pretty and well maintained. Lots of free parking. We will stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at this property during a recent vacation to Portland. We booked because of the positive reviews, and we weren't disappointed. The Inn at Northrup Station is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in Northwest Portland. The hotel has a funky, eclectic feel, but it's also very comfortable and has very easy access to public transportation that takes you anywhere in Portland (so easy that the streetcar station is right outside the hotel!)

Our studio suite was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We appreciated having a full kitchen, even though we didn't cook any meals. We brought breakfast (consisting of a good selection of cereal, yogurt, and pastries) upstairs and enjoyed them at the breakfast bar in the room. We took advantage of the Keurig coffee maker and even the toaster to toast the local multigrain bread that was part of breakfast. During our stay, the Inn even hosted a wine tasting, and we got to try some great Pacific NW wines.

At the end of the day, we enjoyed having a sofa on which to relax, and the weather was nice enough to open the balcony door and enjoy the fresh breezes. The bathroom was spacious and modern, with a double shower head and excellent water pressure. The bed was comfortable. The free wifi was also a plus, and we appreciated the special taxi rates that the hotel had for travel to and from the airport.

We enjoyed being close enough to Portland's attractions to enjoy them, but not so close that we couldn't unwind at the end of the day. The neighborhood is very quiet but also has some great restaurants and shops.

The service at the hotel was fantastic, and we cannot recommend the Inn at Northrup station enough! We'll definitely stay here again on future visits to Portland. It has great value for all the amenities in the hotel.

We stayed here Memorial Day weekend. We're from Seattle and came down to Portland to ride bicycles.I truly don't think there isn't one thing this hotel did not think of. Particularly impressed with the room size. Having the kitchen was a treat and allowed us to have dinner /leftovers in after a long day of riding. The bathroom was nice and clean with a double head shower and quiet seat on the toilet. Even had a plunger in the bathroom.

The room itself was very bright and colorful. Very clean and the bed/pillows were extremely comfortable. Nothing in the room looked cheap. It was a very upscale hotel.

Probably the only thing negative I could say would be the smell in the hallway. We were on the 3rd floor and the hallway smelled very stale walking through. But once we got into our room, the smell was not there.

Service was good. Very friendly staff at the reception desk. Breakfast was nice.

Will definitely stay here again!
