Our tour of Willamette Valley with Mary (owner of Wine Dirt) was absolutely wonderful! It didn't hurt that the weather was perfect. Mary was on time picking us up at our hotel in Portland. We had such a good time chatting with her about wine, wineries, and life in general. She is incredibly knowledgeable about wine and Willamette Valley, and did a great job of not making me feel dumb when asking questions. I am not a wine expert by any means. The wineries she picked for us (Blakeslee, Sokol Blosser, Trisaetum, & Colene Clemens) were breathtaking. I didn't want to leave. Everyone was very friendly and provided a good synopsis on all the wines we tried. Everyone knew Mary at each of the wineries. You can tell she is very well liked by all the owners and people working in the tasting rooms. The lunch she provided was delicious! She picked up these gourmet sandwiches, chips, and a cookies from Red Hill Market. The most charming, local spot! We really enjoyed our day! I cannot recommend Mary enough, and I hope to get back out to Willamette Valley again soon!

When you think of Wine Country, people would often instantly think of Napa Valley or Europe. But Willamette is a quite a gem of its own with so many impressive wineries that have great philosophies in wine making. We truly enjoyed it!

Don't miss Silverton with its Oregon Gardens and downtown murals. Stop at Ann & Amies winery in Carlton for fine wines and a great mountaintop view.

Although the Willamette highway was only supposed to LEAD ME TO - the Crater Lake NP, it proved to be a beauty of its own.
Especially the surprising Salt Creek Falls, not far from Oakridge, and the Odell lake with its magnificant views of the Diamond peak.

WE have been to France, Italy and Calif. wineries- Oregon is just as wonderful as any of them.
the views of the fame and vineyards were breathtaking at King, Salver and Sweet Cheeks. Great wine, entertainment and lovely people.
