Previously reviewed this hotel and gave 4 stars. Was definitely pleased with first 3 visits. Positive points include great location for freeway and airport access (but crappy in every other respect), nice and spotless rooms, comfortable beds, nice lobby and bfast area, mostly helpful staff.
However just stayed 2 nites and had MAJOR noise issues. Asked for room on top floor away from Highway 84 as i always do. Said that I have health problems and need sleep above all else. Was put next to family with small children. Both adults and children made an extreme amount of noise for hours well into the evening (walked by at 12:30am and they were still going). Walls are quite thin. Enuf that you can hear what someone is saying if they are talking loudly.
Asked be moved to a new room. Was given room facing Highway 84. Road noise was very bad even with ear plugs. Next night, hotel was almost full and there was non stop succession of door slamming in hallway. Doors are very heavy and have powerful springs. If u let it shut, it will literally shake the building. Most people just let the door slam, like they are completely unconscious. I heard door slams at 10:15pm, 10:40pm, 11:00pm, 7:15am, etc.
If you stay here and it's fairly empty and you get a room on backside, and your neighbors are not loud and don't slam doors, you may have a quiet stay. Otherwise, BEWARE.
