I visit Portland OR on a regular basis and have mostly stayed at the downtown hotels. But given the city's destiny to become a travel destination, prices have nearly doubled over two years ago. I was frustrated that there was not a room to be found under $150.00. I've never stayed in a Comfort Inn but decided to stay at this location based on the overall satisfaction and since I'm always out and about and just need a base to sleep and relax occasionally. This is a fairly new hotel, or at least aggressively remodeled. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful but most surprising was the room! It was spacious, quiet, attractively decorated and one of the comfiest beds I've slept in; even better than Marriott and W Hotel. Plus the fact for $85.00 plus tax, I had a king suite with fridge and microwave.
Although this looks "way out there" it is not! There is a Max line across the street and downtown is only 20 minutes away. Plus, if you're looking to explore, the newer growing areas are all out his way including the Alberta Arts District and North Portland (NOPO) which I've never explored.
It also saved having to park a car downtown which can be a hassle. This will be my new hotel of choice based on location, comfort and staff.More
