What a great place! The building and theaters inside are beautiful, and the movies they screen are quirky and cool, including by popular vote. They have delicious ice cream, and other great snacks. And a huge, enthusiastic band of followers: I couldn't believe how busy it was! A treat of a theatre.

Visited this theater, out of sheer curiosity, during a recent visit to Portland, Oregon. While I love Old Movie Palaces, this one was far from the best. The facade of the Hollywoiod was very misleading as the inside had been "remodeled" to the point where there was nothing left of the historic quality of the building or auditorium!

Theater staff, such as it was, looked and behaved, like a bunch of dirty street people that had been hired for the evening. The fellow behind the refreshment counter had an superior "attitude" that had to be seen to believed. Tip: Try washing your hands after each time hyou rub your nose while serving food...for while I truly like "butter" on my popcorn...hand grime on my food is a real turnoff for me! Would you believe that he acutally featured a "tip" jar on the counter?

This historic theater has been divided into 3 auditoriums...each smaller than the other. Not good!

The films shown, in a word, OBSCURE!

As a guest, I had to endure a bad evening "at the movies" and would have rather been home watching television.

This place dates to the 1920's and is a Portland treasure. They got new seats which was a huge improvement. They have unfortunately raised prices dramatically, but it's still an excellent venue. Go, see, enjoy!

This is a restored theatre that is beautifully done. The seats are brand new and you get a lot of room and a small table to set your wine or beer onto. Prices are also very economical.

This theater really lived up to the "Hollywood" name. It is gorgeous both inside and out. The fact that they have micro brew beer on tap is just the icing on the cake.
