My daughter and I went to Abu Rasheed on our vacation to Portland this summer. We were in the mood for a nice healthy (but substantial) dinner, and stumbled across this restaurant, that provided exactly what we were looking for. It is a very modest looking place, but don't be fooled by the plain decor. The place is actually quite nice and clean (as well as the bathroom). It's definitely not fancy, but a fantastic value. It appears to be family run- our server said his mom made the baclava, which was the best I've ever had! Highly recommended!
We ordered hummus, tabbouleh, and two beef Gyros. The hummus was absolutely fantastic, very fresh, and the bread that it came with was warm and delicious. The tabblouleh was like a type of Lebanese salsa of some sort, and like the Gyros as well, was delicious. For desert we ordered baclava and some other pastry that i regretfully forget the name of. Both were delightful, and I cannot stress how superb the baclava was.
Incuding desert and beverages, out entire meal was about $27, which I believe is very, very reasonable.
We will be coming back again on our next trip to Portland.
