“Cricket Cafe? Yes Please”
Reviewed 20 June 2013

5 of us arrived around 11 AM on a Sunday on a very nice spring day. It took a little while to get a table for 5 although if we could have eaten outside that would have been quicker. Just a little too chilly for one of the party members, so we waited a bit.
We each loved our food, and I had drink envy over my sister's Bloody Gary--a MUST-TRY!!!!!
Had a good experience! Service was good when taken into account with how busy the cafe was.Coffee was flowing and really tasty

“Good neighborhood place for breakfast/lunch”
Reviewed 3 June 2013

This is a solid neighborhood place, not one travelers will normally find. Despite being from Portland, my wife and I stumbled across it once, and have gone back, and this time with our teenage son. Large variety of solid breakfast/brunch items, which we all liked, and our son didn't even finish his (this is male teenager). Mostly young adult clientele, but that may be the neighborhood. It was a little noisy near the kitchen.

“Yummy Breakfast”
Reviewed 14 April 2013

Fancy - this place is not. Quirky and small, yes. Food - deeeeelish. We came across this spot while walking around - popped in and had a great breakfast. Very "Portland". We sat at a tiny table and had a great breakfast. My Eggs Benedict was perfect. We had coffee but the Bloody Marys at the table next to use looked yummy too.

“Delicious Portlandia style!”
Reviewed 28 March 2013

If you have ever watched Portlandia the TV show this is the kind of place the writers got some ideas for the show. It's fantastic food, try the french toast, (they have half orders) if you love hash browns as a side dish you get a weeks worth cooked perfectly....The lines run long outside on the weekend, but it is worth the wait...the service is typical Portland but you will get what you need sooner or later but no one seems to care. I will give the place 5 stars,,but don't expect that kind of service or atmosphere. Its right out of the TV show and no one employed at the busy cafe would think it matches so perfectly.

“Bleh....”
Reviewed 5 March 2013

Little hole in the wall type of place which usually means good things in this town. Went for brunch on Tuesday. There is a bar with numerous bloody mary options and everyone is friendly enough. I had the "Lumberjack Benedict". We arrived around noon and I got the feeling that everything, the bacon, biscuits, hash browns and gravy had been sitting since early in the morning. It didn't taste warm enough and was pretty average (and not cheap). $34 for two with one bloody is hardly a bargain. I have had better food at Shari's.
