Stopped in for lunch. A relaxing and comfortable place. Customer service was friendly and personable. Enjoyed my meal and was able to relax and enjoy conversation with friends. A great place to eat, drink and socialize. See you again on my next trip to PDX.

We met friendss down here last Friday. Joe, the bartender and Mattie, the waiter were great. We ordered a fabulous prime rib dinner with all the fixings for 12.95. Can't beat the price and it was delicious. Unfortuneately, prime rib is only the last Friday of every month, but the rest of their menu looks awesome. We'll definitely be heading there again!

This is a nice place to grab a sandwich and a draft beer. Gay friendly, but not all gay. We went on a monday (yesterday eve). It was Labor Day, not crowded at about 5:30pm. My first time there. I got the rueben sandwich and a salad (instead of fries). Salad was crisp and fresh, rueben was good but note that there is very little meat in the sandwich but it was still ok. It was $8 or $7.something. A friend got the mac and cheese with bacon. A lot of food and very good, but a tad pricey at $9. The 3rd in our group got the Monday special: a small steak, baked potato, brocolli, and side salad all for $9,50. Very good deal. The service was VERY slow. The bartender was also the server. He was busy talking with the two guys sitting at the bar or going outside to smoke to give us any decent service. But who is in a rush?

Fox & Hounds is one of those places that's set off from the main path and once you find it, you're glad it is. The atmosphere is pleasant even when it's filled with regulars. It's a great place to grab a beer or a bite and read a book or just be alone with your thoughts but it's also a great place to gather with friends.

Service is prompt and efficient and provided by a warm, friendly staff. I've never felt rushed here even when they're visibly busy. You're given the feeling that you are your servers' or bartenders' only customer and these days, that kind of service is a rare find.

The menu is descriptive and offers better than the average bar fare. Try the Mac n Cheese with bacon...creamy goodness served with your choice of soup or salad. Generous portions so anticipate taking half your meal home with you.

Drinks are cheap and strong. I know what you're thinking, nuff said!
