We had a morning to kill before catching our plane back to Pensacola and decided to visit and perhaps, walk across this bridge. It really is beautiful and has some nice little parks beneath it, but we decided that walking all the way across the bridge wasn't for us. The walkway is right next to the rushing cars and we had a rambunctious seven-year-old with us and decided that, since there was no guard rail for the traffic, we had seen enough after we got about a fourth of the way across.

From either end of the bridge, the view is impressive. To the East, you see the Cascade mountains; to the West, Forest Park. A note of caution: go really early in the day to avoid a fairly constant stream of traffic.

Really nice bridge to drive over as you get to Forrest park. Make sure you do it. There is also a park underneath as well

We drove over several times while in the area. Traffic in the city is an issue no matter which road or bridge you are on, this is no exception.

If you are a lover of architecture you have to take in this classic bridge design. The public areas underneath are charming and great photo opportunities. Pack a lunch and take time to stroll and relax. The images will stick with you a lifetime.
