While some of the toys were a lot of fun to check out. MANY of them were incredibly racist, yes i realize in that time period it was perfectly acceptable but it really seamed like a theme running through the place. of all the mechanical piggy banks they only had the ones that were racist on display with many other things with derogitory names for people of other ethnicities. while it was a party of history i wouldnt recomend going if you are not white or if you would be bothered by such things as i was.

“Fantastic place for kids and kids-at-heart”
Reviewed 19 October 2007

This place is a must-see if you have a child- or a child's sense of delight. You'll find toys and banks from the 1800's through more modern times, but more older toys than newer ones. Many cast iron banks, some of a rather "politically incorrect" nature but fascinating in a historical sense. Mr. Kidd has been collecting toys and banks for 35 years, and has focused on various collections at different times. You'll find a massive collection of railroad locks and railroad-related items, Steiff stuffed animals, fire engines and old-time cars, Disneyana, Portland & Oregon collectibles, and too much more to mention. Best of all, it's FREE, though it only seems right to leave a donation once you've enjoyed the collection. One note- it's really easy to miss this place- it's in a nondescript building with nothing but a small, black and white printed sign on the door. It's on the west side of SE Grand Avenue between Madison & Main. Just park, & knock on the door for admission.
