What a find! Easy short walks to the many restaurants, art galleries and shopping venues of the Pearl, not to mention Powell's! The streetcar is a block away, and from it, you can reach any major TriMet or Max line. The block the hotel is situated on is quiet, even with the train station nearby. Common areas are modern and invite you to linger. Breakfast is the usual mix of hot and cold fare one expects at Marriott, but you can shop at Whole Foods a few short blocks away and prepare your own food in your well-appointed kitchen.

The rooms are spacious and modern, and we found we had plenty of space to spread out without feeling cramped or disorganized. The bed was very comfortable, and perhaps the only negative was the lack of blackout drapes to block the glow from the city streetlights. Of course, then we might have slept the mornings away! The hotel has many amenities that long-stay travelers will appreciate, like coin operated laundry, pool and health club, and outdoor areas with seating.

A tip - Public parking is available next door for a quarter of what you'd pay the hotel.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are very spacious and have windows on two sides, making them feel larger.

Our family recently stayed for 2 nights at the Residence Inn Portland/Pearl District. We found the hotel to be clean, modern and comfortable We stayed in a first floor suite that had its own private patio that opened up to the courtyard and down the hall from the pool. The kids enjoyed the courtyard (playing Frisbee & soccer), while my husband and I could keep an eye on them from our patio. The staff was friendly and willing to accommodate our every need. The rooms were clean and well furnished. The beds were clean and comfortable. We did park across the street in the $8.00 per day parking lot. This hotel is located close to restaurants, shops and the Portland Streetcar/Max. We will definitely stay at this hotel again when returning to Portland.

Room Tip: We loved the first floor patio suites. Great access to the courtyard, fire pit, cabana, and BBQ.

This is a fresh stylish new property near transportation and activities. Stayed a night with the grandkids and everyone enjoyed the pool, the breakfast, and the free BBQ in the lovely lobby lounge/dining area. Staff was accommodating and well trained, and all facilities were spotless. Parked at nearby train station to save money, and rode the streetcar just for fun. No complaints at all! Highly recommend.

Thia hotel is new and very nice. It is right in the Pearl district and is walking distance to everything. The hotel has very modern decor and has a nice lobby area as well as an outdoor seating area that is very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and willing to help. I arrived at 12:30 and was sure they would not have a room ready. I had called ahead to see if they had early check-in and they said they could possibly have something for me. They did have a room and by 12:45 I was out walking in the Pearl district. I appreciated this as I was there for work and was hoping to spend my Sunday exploring and not waiting for a room.

The rooms are spacious and each has a fully equiped kitchen so if you want to get take out from somewhere you can be comfortable back in your room. There is a nice hot breakfast with plenty of choices each morning.

They have a desk with lots of outlets so it is easy to charge all your gadgets. The bed was very comfortable. There are flat screen TV's in the living room and the bedroom.

It is a short walk to the tram which can take you where you need to go. The only bad thing is it is $32 for valet parking.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Portland, business or pleasure. You will not be disappointed.

Not at all what one expects when you think of a Residence Inn. I mean, you think of a nice room with a kitchen. But this was much more! Huge lobby with beautifully appointed modern style decor - very large gas fireplace sitting area with windows beyond showing many areas to sit or chat outside. Full bar in lobby, too. Beyond that is the breakfast room with the standard breakfast fare. Workstations plenty so it's ideal for eating/working simultaneously. Can't report on the indoor pool - wasn't there long enough, sadly. The room had very nice linens and the bathroom was spacious and simply decorated with long, rectangular, large floor tiles, unobtrusive wallpaper and a non-tub, large shower. Always appreciate an extra mirrored area to get ready and this had 2 of those areas. Throw in friendly staff and it's a great place! Rate was decent - it's the valet that adds another $32, but it's optional.
