“Great new hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2014

Stayed here on business. Although this is kind of on what I would consider "the outskirts" of town it is a short walk to restaurants and anything else you need and you cannot beat these rooms. They are all mini suites with kitchens, couch/living room area, modern decor, comfortable beds. Only issue was that the shower seemed to spray water onto the floor because there isn't a curtain or full door on it.

The staff was very friendly and the included breakfast was typical Residence Inn breakfast which I find to usually be great. (waffle maker, oatmeal, cereals, fruit, yogurt, other hot items). They do (like Residence Inns have) dinners/cocktail type hour foods a few days during the week so it was nice on my way out one night I was able to grab some cheese and a quick bite before getting on the road for work.

There is a garage next door that can park in over night but you cannot take your car in and out so I had to use the valet. The valet staff was super helpful and nice but the price was pretty steep at $32 a night. I had no choice but to use them because I needed in/out access and I got back one night after the garage next door had already closed so I wasn't able to park there.

It was still a little chilly when I went but in the summer I'm sure their patio area is amazing. Really neat looking little sitting areas with couches, trees, flowers, etc. It seemed really relaxing sort of a little oasis that would not make you think you are in a city because the building surrounds half of it so it stays quiet.

We enjoyed our stay at this new hotel in the Pearl district of portland. We had a suite for a family of 4. The facility is very clean with lots of light. The staff was helpful and pleasant. It is accessible to Pearl district eateries and shops so we enjoyed going out for walks in the evening. Families with kids might find a dine in choice from a local place called Urban Pantry convenient for dinner after a long day of activities. Definitely a place to come back to when we are in portland next.

We've been on a three week road trip for business (my husband and I) and there have been many duds along the way, as far as hotels go. This hotel was, by far, the best one. We got to the room and was like, "Finally!" Rooms are spacious, pretty, comfortable and like home. The hotel staff has been friendly and professional. The thermostat was a little confusing but the guy at the front desk came right up and got it going. The hotel is quiet; and it's fourth of July weekend. The location is close to everything and we walked a lot. Lots of sights. Beds are great. Nice view. There's a market in the lobby, breakfast.. There's even a small meeting area outside like a park with couches, fire pits, and elegant grill and tables. Incredible value for the money. If I were going to say anything I didn't care for with this hotel, I'd mention the shower only has one door. It's open on the one side. While it's neat looking, I wondered how to not get the whole bathroom floor wet and it was hard to keep the heat/steam in the shower stall. But it was ritzy-like. I love this hotel. I wish they were all like this. Good job you guys!

Room Tip: We were on the sixth floor and had no trouble at all. Nothing to report to avoid.

I know it's not the usual way you stay in a Residence Inn, but we stayed here for two nights during our stay to Portland, based on a combination of location, reputation and price.

The room is of course excellent - it's a new place, built to a high standard with great facilities and a very comfortable bed. Lots of good storage options and some small but well-appreciated touches such as the nightlight in the bathroom that means you don't have to wake up too much if you need to get up in the night. It was nice to see that the air conditioning was quiet and could run all night without causing disturbance.

The breakfast was a little chaotic - there's obviously not enough room for everyone to eat at the same time and we weren't even at a peak time of the year, and at one time there was no silverware out for several minutes, but hey, it's free.

Valet parking (there's no other way to park at the hotel itself) seemed a little pricy at $32 a night but it seemed like a better option than trying to fend for ourselves in a strange city.

It was nice to have the facility of computers with printers near the lobby, which we used to print out hotel booking confirmations for the next steps in our vacation.

All considered this is a great place to stay.

Staying for a week, we changed rooms from the courtyard side to the train/river view and really appreciate the change. We love everything about this hotel with the exception of the garish color scheme.

This was my first visit to Portland and and so the first at this hotel. I stayed two nights at this apparently brand new Residence Inn in the Pearl District while on vacation during Memorial Day weekend 2014. Rooms were impressive, even better than you expect for a Residence Inn. Very quiet inside the building. The free breakfast was superior and the staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions on places to eat and sights to see.The hotel's location is great for walking the city. I had a very good experience and would stay here again.
