“Classic Marriott property, excellent location”

Well kept property, great location on the waterfront. Lots of activity nearby. Mortons steakhouse just a few blocks away. Views from our room at front were great. Room was plenty large for the two of us. very clean and modern. Staff friendly and accomodating. Valet parking is the only option, a bit pricey at $34.

Room Tip: all the rooms at front have eastern exposure, and a great view of waterfront. Rooms to the rear are...

We stayed there two nights while visiting relatives. The hotel staff and front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful. The room was smaller than expected and dingy. The hotel was recently remodeled with new rugs, etc. Some rooms were still under construction. The "balcony" was fun to stand on, but too small to really spend any time there. The view to the river was nice and the location was convenient to downtown attractions and activities. It was a pretty standard hotel and you are paying extra for the location. Would I stay there again? Probably not.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the waterfront.

Stayed there for a work convention Aug 23-24. Hotel is right on the river, I got a room with a river view and it was nice to wake up to the sunrise over it. I was only on the 5th floor, but it was still a nice view. The room had been updated, and was definitely decent. The bathroom was a bit small, but since it was just me, it didn't really matter so much. The bed was comfy enough, and they do have an in room coffee maker. My only complaint with the room was the AC, it was a little loud at night, and woke me up once or twice when it kicked on. But I would imagine most of the time you probably wouldn't need the AC in portland - we just happened to be there when it was amazing weather!

The staff there was great. Everyone was nice, and professional. Jeremy checked me in and he was awesome! Gave me some tips on restaurants and maps to get around the city. The hotel is a bit of a hike from the train to/from the airport, so wear comfortable shoes for walking if you take the train into the city. And that is definitely the way to go if you don't want to get a rental car. Parking at the hotel costs an ASTRONOMICAL at $30 a day, so I suggest the train (costs $2.40 one way), then take the light rail that is free to get to most places. You could even rent a car for a day trip or two from downtown, which would be cheaper than parking the car for one day.

Overall, if you can get the hotel at a discount, it is worth it.

Room Tip: Higher floors have good views of the river, ask for one of those. Otherwise, you are looking at dow...

I spent 3 nights here for work purposes. The room was smaller than expected for the rate charged. The room was dingy and very dusty. The bathroom vanity is very small & there is no room to put your "stuff". I had completed a pre check-in online (Marriott graciously offers this service if you're a member). They ask if you have any special requests. I requested extra towels for all days. I never got the towels until I asked for them each day. Lastly, their parking fee is considerably higher than surrounding hotels. On the plus side, the waterfront location and view is very nice. It is in a good location to get around and do business.

We spent two nights last week at this hotel. The setting on the Riverfront was very convenient to get to most places we wanted to see. The staff were very friendly & helpful to us. The room was clean, average size with a very small bathroom.

This was my third time staying at this hotel. I actually think the customer service has improved at the valet and front desk. Rooms and the facility are clean and close to lots of restaurants. However, there were a lot of noisy folks beside us. We assumed because it was Hood to Coast weekend. We heard security come once to quite them down but they continued to disturb the floor until about 4am. Very frustrating but I have to give them a little credit for trying.

Room Tip: Stay away from the rooms near the elevator. Lots of noise.

I spent a week in this hotel for work, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The walking path by the river is right across the street, it was close to work, and there were good restaraunts by the river. Room service was good, the service itself very pleasant and competent, and my room was clean, well appointed, and with a great view of the river and Mount Hood. A really nice experince for a basic work hotel.
