The bed and pillows were good. Those meeting you out front were great. For a hotel this size very few amenities in the hotel. One restaurant and bar combination. Near the river but the river is across the street. A very small bathroom with no fan. Left for three and a half hours at 9 am still not cleaned when I returned. A good thing is the windows opened . Rooms were pretty small and Internet was 12.95 and not very strong and only worked in your room.Overall very average hotel and on the low side for Marriott.

You won't be disappointed, especially by the hop-to-it staff who were invariably polite & helpful. Quality room (just a shade small) in a well maintained and very clean building. Downtown is a pleasant 10 minute walk. Would happily stay again.
TopTip: Ask for a river view room. Naito Parkway is a little busy so ask for a higher room to get you above any traffic noise.

This establishment was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very nice view of the waterfront. Restaurant was very relaxing after a day of travel and the food was good. Morning breakfast was more than adequate. It was far more than your continental breakfast. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Stayed for 1 night and this is a well run Marriott. I was greeted immediately by the valet, welcomed by the doorman and checked in quickly by the front desk. I had room 1407 (double/double)which had an awesome view of the river! Slight noise of the freight trains that passed infrequently but it was such a slight sound that was actually quaint. Very clean rooms with a nice bar/lounge. I would recommend if you would like to try a good local brewery, try Deschutes which is about a 1 mile walk or $7usd cab ride... Excellent beers, good atmosphere, good burgers

Spent three nights at the Marriot Downtown Waterfront in Portland for a conference. I was able to get a waterfront view room at the very top of the building. It was so pleasant! The view was awesome and the room was quiet and very comfortable. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. My only complaint was the food -- it wasn't that great. The meatloaf we had the first day for lunch was overcooked and very salty -- although the mashed potatoes and carrots were tasty. The lasagna -- with very yummy green beans -- the next day was much better.

I wasn't impressed with the menu in the bar -- the restaurant wasn't open for some reason -- the French fries were limp, which was disappointing.

Otherwise, I thought our stay there was very nice. I would definitely stay there again!

Average Marriott in nice location Next to the river. Small Bathrooms/Small rooms @290 sq ft. (most M's are in the 350+ range) Decent furnishings as expected for a Marriott but kind of claustrophobic. Originally planned to be a Hilton Property but later acquired and opened by Marriott. Ask for a room facing the front of the hotel for a river view but good luck... only about 1/3 or the rooms enjoy this view. All the staff i encountered were true Marriott Professionals.

Room Tip: Front of Hotel facing River

I stayed at this hotel while on a brief trip to visit family in Portland. Located near the city's riverfront, it is on the edges of the downtown area. While not a great distance, it is set somewhat away from the downtown core.

On the whole, I found it to be an average property. While it served my purposes, there was nothing especially great about the hotel. The rooms were fairly standard, providing views of either the downtown or riverfront areas. The front desk staff was professional and eager to assist. However, I had to make multiple requests to receive additional towels, something I have not encountered at other Marriott properties.
